Fibber Magees — Restaurant in Galway

This place is a dive! We used to go there cause drink used to be cheaper until one Wednesday in April 2012 I went in to meet 5 mates who were already in there. Town was dead and I could seen in the window that there 10 people in there max so it was quiet. I had no drink at this stage and I am a friendly guy so I greeted the bouncer at the door with a hello and a smile to which he said "not tonight". I was very shocked as there was no one around at all and I could see my mates been most of the customers in the pub. I asked why as it was quiet and I was sober and he would say nothing else but "not tonight" in an ignorant way. He was a bald white fella prob a little under 6 foot tall! I rang my buddies in front of him and they left and we all went across to the Skeff and had a great night! What used to be a place I had fondness for even though it is a kip of a spot I will never go back case of this a**hole!!

If they hire people like him to represent there establishment then they haven't a clue and lost a lot of money that night as it was a reunion night with me...

The security staff are highly ignorant and totally useless. after being part of the organising committee for our class party and bringing them the business this generated the door staff refused me entry. Not only that but they also refused to get the manager when I requested that the matter be taken up with him. this total ignorance and disrespectful attitude caused me to miss the class party I organised and ruined what would have been a great night. had I been totally wasted I would have understood but I had only drank one bottle and was completely sober this is why I have felt the need to do this report and advise any and all students to avoid this bar and to never use it as a venue for a class party or any...

Absolutely disrespectful, I ordered to a barman at 23.35 at the counter a water and a whiskey and coke, then the staff looked at me and saying “we don’t have tap water at the moment”, I said okay,other water are okay, the staff still walked away and served someone else first even though I was the first one who came to the bar, then he came back and asked me “what you want”? I said, well I am still waiting for my water and my vodka and coke.

I am not sure is it because my non-Irish face makes me receive this “uncommon” service, but this service definitely makes me feel uncomfortable.
