We ordered our Christmas dinner from The Galleon Restaurant this year, and wow, did they deliver! The entire process—from ordering and payment to the communication with Ger—was smooth, quick, and incredibly easy. It was a nice personal touch getting to chat with Ger herself, which made the service even more memorable. When we went to collect our meal on Christmas Eve, the restaurant was understandably busy (a good sign!), but we didn’t have to wait long at all. The food was beautifully boxed, each dish clearly labeled, and there were helpful instructions on how to reheat everything for Christmas Day. I had some concerns that the food, particularly the meat, might dry out after reheating, but I was completely wrong. The turkey and ham were incredibly moist and tender, like they had just come out of the kitchen that day. The portions were generous, and everything from the mashed potatoes and stuffing to the vegetables was spot-on. The gravy was rich and flavorful, pulling everything together perfectly. From start to finish, the food was absolutely divine, and the convenience of having everything prepped and ready to heat made our Christmas Day far less stressful. We were able to relax and enjoy the holiday without worrying about cooking! Thank you, Ger, and the entire team at The Galleon. We’ll definitely be ordering again...
Read moreAfter a lovely day in Salthill decided to join a que for this restaurant, we waited over an hour for a table only to discover that they were accomodating large groups in between. In the que a lot of families and elderly people waiting none of the staff adressed anybody to advise this was the situation and the length it would take etc. Staff at cash register quite rude i must say. The food when we eventually got a table was just edible, beef was like it was bolied,veg etc heated and reheated. Chicken curry was the same a reheat job, so disappointing given the reviews. We had a 2 year old in our group of 7 and we needed to use the changing facilities which we did not use as they were absolutely discusting, toilet paper everywhere floor all wet just not up to a usable standard. Shocking in this present time given we have still covid etc going on. This restaurant was interested in the big groups this evening and making on it. Read moreI was there today for mothers day and when I got there it was if you were at the top of the queue you were next, so I was at the top with myself and 4 other family members and we were queuing at the top for 25 mins and workers within the work place constantly got people that were behind us and put them at tables before us and every time the phrase was 'give us two minutes' it's an absolute disgrace what went on! In total from when I started queuing to when I got fed up and left I was queuing for 45 minutes!! When I got there, there was 2 tables free and 5 mins before I left someone came to them(obviously booked) that's understandable but 2 tables for free side by side me and my family could have easily sat there. I also got asked how many people I was with 6 times by the same waiter and to me that was yer way of satisfying us making us think we will be getting sorted soon. Before we were leaving we asked what's the situation was with the whole thing with people skipping us and everything and the person I was communicating with(manager of some degree)...
