Burger & Bao — Restaurant in Limerick

I must say the meal was not great. I never really ever write a negative review about places like you gotta be a certain type of bad and push all the buttons for that but anyways. Ordered peppercorn fries with little baos and the teriyaki Bao bun. I wanted to try a Bao bun made by people who knew how to make them because I thought mine at home weren't that good but boy was I wrong. Teriyaki chicken Bao bun was underwhelming the teriyaki sauce was dry and the chicken was as thin as a McDonalds patty. Almost no lettuce €7 Little baos, not sure what's in them but they're sooooo small. 5 for €7 that's like getting 5 McDonald's nuggets for €7. It came with sweet and sour sauce that was just sour and very spicy. And last but not least peppercorn fries. That stuff is sooooo salty I actually can't finish even half of what arrived. I'm extremely disappointed and wish I haven't just spent €19...

I think the management has changed here recently. There used to be a better atmosphere and the food was much better. The food is now fine and the atmosphere is very uncomfortable. The new staff/owners (?) are constantly yelling to each other from the front of the restaurant back to the kitchen. Kitchen staff walk in and out, around the restaurant, to the outside of the store, down the street, and back to the kitchen. It's quite odd. The staff do not wear uniforms either, instead it's some kind of loungewear and flip flops, which is not what you would expect from those preparing your food. They have also changed the menu lately. It was very simple and very good before. Sadly, it is not...

Best tasting burgers and bao! P.s no other place in Limerick serves bao. Tried smash burger comes with chips and drink for €10 ! Chicken samyang bao was too good ! Portion of chips was really good. Great tasting as well.

It's not just only about the price. It's about the taste. They can easily sell this for more but they are keeping it down.

While most small businesses gave up this new place came with new type of food for the people of Limerick.
