Lana Limerick City Asian Street Food — Restaurant in Limerick

I came in yesterday with my partner and we always come here. Today we found a piece of hair inside the food and we said it to the waiter who then proceeded to say that no one in the kitchen had curly black hair and I was literally looking at a woman with curly black hair he then said it could have fell from our own heads but we both have black pin straight hair so how is this possible. After a bit of arguing he said he would ask the chef to remake it which he did. After a while he then said that the kitchen porter found hair in the sweet and sour sauce and apologised about it then again we found another hair and I said it to the waiter and he then said that it’s not possible two times and I told him there’s a camera there check it don’t accuse false accusations he then started laughing and being cheeky saying it could have fell from our heads even though we clearly didn’t have curly hair after arguing he then said that he would take it off the order fine he never apologised for it and while walking to the till he made cheeky nasty comments towards us. I asked for a manager and he said he was the supervisor is this how you guys train your staff to speak with customers hmm in the picture you can still see him laughing how rude!!!!

I’ve just now seen the reply on this review and my partner has dreadlocks!!!! so if you would like to educate yourself his hair was in a style there would have been no way for his hair to fall into the food. It’s such a shame as the lana I’ve been to before we’re not this impolite to say that you watched you cctv and still go on to say that his hair is curly is ridiculous. Last weekend me and my family (6 people all together) came here to get lunch. We expected it to be not too bad as usual, but this time it was really horrible experience. Our order was: Crispy sweet chilli chicken with egg fried rice Sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice (1st photo) Crispy roast duck with chips (2nd photo) Chilli and cashew nut with duck and noodles Thai garlic and chilli with duck and chips (3rd photo) Malay bbq honey with beef and egg fried rice (4th photo).

First of all, the waiter forgot to write down one of the orders, so I waited around 20 mins for nothing. Second thing is about the dishes. Sweet chilli chicken was too sweet not spicy at all.

One of the chips portions we got with lots of salt, the bug amount of salt was on the bottom of the plate (so here is the question if someone was using the plate already. Have no idea). Some of the chips were in the coat of salt (5&6th photos) and it was disgraceful, because another portion came to as without salt on top but with a salt shaker.

The duck amount in thai garlic and chilli sauce was a drop in the ocean of vegetables (it wasn't a vegetarian dish, and that was awful).

The amount of duck in chili and cashew nut sauce order was a little bit bigger but still not enough. Really it's better to get roast duck where you get a real half of a duck breast, but not these two poor portions.

Beef in malay bbq honey sauce was poorly cooked, it was hard, it took about 20 minutes to chew it.

So, the overall experience was terrible at this restaurant, almost everyone was unhappy with the orders they got and were upset. Other Lana restaurants were not that bad, but...

This review is a reply to Miss Iremide Obisesan who left her review earlier, as I just want to share the truth. That day I witnessed the entire situation unfold, and honestly, it was shocking. I was sitting quite far, but still the whole restaurant could hear her yelling that she refuses to pay for the dish. The waiter politely addressed the issue and offered a replacement, she continued her outrageous behavior. To top it off, she had the audacity to scream at the waiter and belittle him, claiming she could be rude because she was a customer. As a fighter for justice I told her she had no right to be rude, because the waiter is also a person. And now I see that she even posted a picture taken on the sly without waiter’s consent. What a shame such people still exist, and even more frustrating that they would try to tarnish the reputation of hardworking staff. As well as that, you, Miss Obisesan, should be ashamed that you lie in your review saying you both have straight hair, while in reality we all saw you had curly hair (EVEN IF IT’S BRAIDED IN DREADS), just like the one that was in your dish “accidentally”. I frequently visit this restaurant and have never faced any rudeness from staff, they are just doing their job, while people like this only thrive on creating a conflict.
