Lava Restaurant — Restaurant in Limerick

My partner has had a smashed burger 🍔 and he said it wasn't cooked properly the meat and I could smell it from across too, the chicken in the pasta isn't of good quality and not cooked properly 3 times iv had their pasta and had to leave out the chicken, same in the ceaser salad chicken i eat and felt sick after, the pasta is lovely though the peas need extra cooking they give half cooked only then il say perfect 😋 once these things addressed. The decor is very dark as well. I like a light setting ✨️. The take out portion seemed smaller in the box than what I would be given if I eat in there. Their fries are lovely but I don't think theyr the fresh ones theyr from the frozen packet, I think. They should do more desi dishes like desi curries and naans and parathas then il try those and fresh cake with custard or ice cream and extend their dessert range I would try. This is our third time ordering from Lava. Smash Burgers are lovely, seasoned well. A bit steep for price considering its just the burger and not even a handful of chips. However they are filling.

Carbonara: Very bland and not seasoned well, they DO NOT use pancetta even though it is advertised in the menu. It is processed frozen smokey bacon squares you get on a pizza. Pasta is however cooked perfect and isnt mushy. Very overpriced for what you get considering ingredients used.

Chips are cooked great. They are crunchy but soft in the center.

They do have a nice chicken garlic chip, which was lovely last...

I got chicken wings in BBQ sauce with chips, both of which were delicious. My partner got the biriyani which the restaurant was testing out on their menu. The biriyani tasted amazing but it was basically a big plate of rice with some chicken on the side so it became a bit boring. Some vegetables mixed throughout might have made it a bit more interesting. The staff were very friendly and gave some suggestions for what we might like. The restaurant itself was nice, if a bit plain. Overall, we were pleased with what we got, we'll be going back to try the rest...
