River Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in The Borough District of Wexford

We tried 3 times to get a reservation here for dinner and it was fully booked, so we were delighted to finally eat there last night. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The restaurant is just in a pub in the hotel, so it is a comfortable vibe to enjoy as a family or in a large gathering. I had the seafood marnay and the chunks of fresh cod in it were so delicious that I’m craving it today! My husband orders his steak blue and his steak was cooked to perfection. The children’s meals were a good size too and they enjoyed their desserts. The children were given a little box with organic chocolate and an eco friendly toy when they were leaving and it was such a nice touch. Usually love coming here but I had an awful experience yesterday. Short man with glasses (I assume is the manager) was very patronising, rude and snarky. He wanted us in and out and made it known, even though we had a reservation. Definitely ruined the experience for me and I won’t be returning. Great selection of menu items. Interesting restaurant. With attentive and very helpful staff. Very tasty and interesting dishes full of flavours. A totally amazing delicious experience. Might become a regular if this standard is maintained . Quick service relating to others. Big que dos for having a local craft beer. Even though it was late in the day for lunch, service didn't suffer. Returned again..yep .. good..and revisited for breakfast still...
