Kyoto Kilkenny — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Kilkenny City

It was a really bad experience. We received Califorian sushi with really bad presentation and taste was not good too, the sushi in plate was like beaten up in kitchen and given to a child to slice and place on plate. One sushi slice was small one is big and so on.

We ordered 2 sushi only and received and additional wok, wrong order.

Crispy monk fish sushi was really bad, the worst one I got in entire country. The fish was really hard like an over fried chicken nuggets. I returned it and complaint about it to waitress and we received from chef as an answer, "this is a crispy monk fish, we fry it and it is always hard". Well, it cannot be hard that we cannot chew it, isnt it?

Only good thing is the waitress, she is short with glasses, she was so kind and really tried to help us out. Tried to change the monk fish with califorian and offered us to pack it because we said we do not want that anymore. We did not accept the no charged one. I think you really should keep that person there, you need those people.

The guy standing at entrance was unfriendly at all, staring at us with nothing said after we said thanks before leaving out.

Customers need goo service yes but also deserves good taste that you promised. Two stars for the waitress as she was really tried to make the thing alright and she was kind, unless...

My partner and I ate here at lunch today and we had such a great experience. We both ordered the daily bento which was amazing value and everything in it was incredible. We also ordered the California rolls which were lovely. I did not get the two staff members names but we were there around 1pm and there was a young man and young woman working and they were both extremely pleasant and helpful. Such great front of house staff just makes the experience of a restaurant much more comfortable and positive. I am very happy to see Kyoto open in Kilkenny as I always had such great experiences in the Waterford one. It definitely lives up to the freshness and quality of the Waterford restaurant. We will...

Kyoto.. From my knowledge the only place in inner city kilkenny with fresh made to order sushi and what a gem it is!

I visited twice prior to Christmas and countless times throughout the year, I really tested the service!

On my first recent visit I got a random selection of five sushi, Tempura prawns and fried noodles and it was amazing. The rice was perfectly sticky and the fish fresh.

On my second visit we had a newborn! Testing the accessibility with a pram/shopping/baby bag…. Mayhem. We were well aware of the stairs! But the mission was to eat..We did make it and got battered crab sushi… and it was worth it!

All fresh ingredients and made fresh to order, a lovely Asian tiger beer on...
