The name of the place is ironic, because you’ll definitely have nostalgia for things that actually have taste.
My friend’s ice tea was nostalgic for actual tea.
Waiter seemed ultra stoned, forgetting stuff twice in a row and bringing us a water we didn’t order, then walked away with the ice glass for an ordered coke and came back a few seconds later to give it back to us.
Asked what kind of meat was in the pie, she she said she didn’t know (she could ask the cook/microwaver guy, but didn’t offer that as a solution), and just mentioned she didn’t cook stuff there.
Food was alright I guess, but very overpriced for the effort, though, because it was either frozen (the fries/chips), store bought (the coleslaw potato salad thing) or microwaved (the cottage pie, seafood chowder and guinness stews). The guinness stew’s pastry was half cooked, half raw.
Nothing was seasoned either (they only provide salt/pepper on request).
The worst offender was the iced tea, which was just a load of cold water, ice, a slice of somewhat dehydrated lemon and a dash of tea taste. The iced tea was basically cold water with lemon and a vague taste of something.
A meal for 4 people (4x stews and 4x drinks - 2x tea, 1beer and a coke) was 64€. Horribly overpriced.
If you’re looking to shed a lot of cash for no returns and enjoy stoned waiters, this is a 10/10 place.
Other than being way too high to be at work, the waiter...
Read moreMyself and my friend went into this cafe on Monday 13th January. I ordered a coffee with a pot of hot water on the side. My friend had tea and a cake. The rudest waitress I've ever encountered brought the order to the table. She brought me a Capachino not a coffee. I don't drink milk so I told her politely as she was passing that she brought me the wrong coffee. She shouted at me at the top of her voice "you ordered a Capachino. I said I ordered a coffee. She then shouted even louder that I ordered a Capachino and snapped it off the table. I showed her the receipt which clearly stated my order. She said that she just registered it as a coffee. She brought me a coffee down and slapped it on the table. I said I don't drink milk and was about to explain that I wouldn't be ordering a Capachino as there is milk in it. She walked off and left me in mid sentence. I'm 67 years of age and in my entire life I've never encountered such ignorance. I do hope the owner sees this report. It looked a beautiful little cafe but with staff like that I wouldn't set my foot inside the door rver again There isn't an option for NO STARS otherwise that's what I would...
Read moreI opted for a chicken tikka, peppers & cheese tortilla wrap and side salad for €8.95. Very tasty and side salad was a step up from the usual green leaves with dressing. All sandwiches, paninis, rolls and wraps come with choice of chips, side salad or crisps. My husband went for the Club triple decker sandwich (chicken bacon cheese onion & tomato) with chips @€9.95. I had a cappucino for €3.95 (pricey) and my husband had an Americano for €3.35. Our children shared a toasted ham & cheese sandwich and chips @€8.95 (on the pricey side) and had water. But then a portion of small chips alone is €4.95!! I thought staff were friendly and efficient in a busy environment. I particularly liked how child friendly it was in that I spotted and asked for the colours and colouring books to keep the children entertained whilst we waited for our order (going forward: staff could offer these without parents asking) and the children were given a complimentary marshmallow when we were finished our lunch. A warm...
