I recently visited The Playwright Bar in Kilkenny and had a fantastic experience that left a lasting impression. If you're in the mood for delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and great service, this is the place to be!
First up were their chicken wings with hot sauce, and they were simply divine. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated with a hot sauce that packed just the right amount of heat. Each bite was an explosion of flavour that had me reaching for more. It's a must-try for anyone who appreciates quality wings that are perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection.
BBQ burger it did not disappoint. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The BBQ sauce had a smoky richness that complemented the fresh ingredients, creating a harmonious blend of flavours. The burger was stacked high with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and a perfectly melted layer of cheese, all encased in a soft, toasted bun. It was a true delight and easily one of the best BBQ burgers I’ve ever had!
Beyond the food, the atmosphere at The Playwright was incredibly inviting. The bar has a cosy, relaxed vibe with just the right amount of buzz. It's the perfect spot to unwind with friends or enjoy a casual meal. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that we felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our visit.
Overall, The Playwright Bar offers an exceptional dining experience with delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service. Whether you're a local or just passing through Kilkenny, this is a spot you don't want to miss. Highly...
Read moreI would prefer to give this establishment a rating of no stars at all. I just watch the manager of the playright tear down a young girl who had been busking outside on kiran's street by paying her to stop playing. I honestly found it disgusting. It takes a lot of courage to busk for the first time and to see a member of staff outright destroy that confidence and bravery is heartbreaking. This girl's voice was amazing and if anything everyone one else eating outside at the time seemed to enjoy the change of musical tone, and to see the distraught look on her face honestly broke my heart. If this is the attitude of the management of playright then I simply won't stand to support or spend money in their establishment and if you can sympathize with me I urge you to...
Read moreOn the surface, this restaurant does not appear overly posh, but if you’re looking for a quaint Irish cafe, with good service, a traditional appearance and wonderful food, this is the place. We rolled into town on a rainy morning, looking for something to eat and to dry out. Even though it wasn’t 11:30am, they were willing to serve us lunch even though other restaurants nearby would not. Everything was quick and delicious. And everyone we met there - staff and other customers- were wonderful. I just may book another trip back to Ireland, just to have lunch...
