Caffè Cittadella - Bergamo — Restaurant in Bergamo

It was the only rude service during one month vacation in Italy. I was shocked, it was fully unexpected. We jush should not have stopped there.

We stopped there to enjoy the last gelato before flying home after a month long vacation in Italy. To get gelato you need to pay first. So I went to pay. The worker in register was on the phone. All the time. Then he told me to sit down and that there is a waitress here. I told him that I want ice-cream and I need to pay for it first. He told me to go and take the ice-cream. After taking ice-cream I finally managed to pay. (He was still on the phone)

I understand that high season is extremely stressful. I understand that this is city center. Gelato was nothing special. I will avoid this place in the future with this nervous guy ;)

The girl was very friendly. I recommend to eat gelato in the center, not here - better taste and great service in another place:)

I should have read reviews before entering in a hurry. Would have avoided this nervous guy...

Location is nice, but too bad the service is nothing like the warm Italian people we know and meet all around us.

Gelato is better near the historic centre. When we wanted to order and pay at the counter, the waiter rudely told us we need to order outside, while the gelato bar has a sign to pay first inside and then order the gelato outside. We also wanted to order a icecoffee, but that had to be ordered outside, while the icecream has to be ordered only for take away. So not to be ordered outside (???) Of course miscommunication can occur. But the waiter was really agitated.

We decided to go a few meters back where they had genuine good service and...

Very friendly girl set up a table for 4 of us.

Food very poor. Spaghetti tasteless with hard noodles and also had cheese in it (after asking the server was there cheese in the spaghetti and being told no. Pizza was just ok.

Wine was awful and heard a man at another table complaining about his white wine. Beer was fine.
