Best food in all of Trentino! I have been living in the Veneto/Trentino regions for over 10 months, and I can honestly say I had not had - and not have had since then - better food than at this restaurant, within that time.

The food is mainly German/Austrian - but also some choices of Italian cuisine on the menu. We went with the German/Austrian, and it was phenomenal. I really don't remember ever having so much fun eating! The food was the most enjoyable I think I have ever had. Everything we ate was delicious, right down from the seasoned potatoes, to the almost entire pig that was left on our table. Large portions, a bit expensive - but for a one time experience, I would say it's definitely worth it. It was a little difficult to find, but again totally worth it in the end.

The waiter spoke three languages - trying all three on us, when he didn't need to. But it's nice to know the staff is prepared for anything. The atmosphere is great. Inside candle-lit and cozy; Outside, there's an area similar to the inside, with candles, on the patio and some hanging vine above head; While the other end of the patio, is more family-friendly.

Lovely area, and once I can't stress enough how delicious the food is. I highly recommend it to tourists visiting the area, from any country around the world!...

So yes, the food here is excellent. I had the white sausage with pretzel which was delicious. The pig knuckle with sauerkraut and speck was also fantastic. The food here is some of the best German food in Bolzano. However, the service was absolutely terrible. We sat down at 6 pm and ordered drinks. Then had to ask to see a food menu which was a 20 minute wait. We ordered food over an hour after getting in the door and my friend's order was forgotten so we waited another ten minutes until his food came. We enjoyed everything we had and it was all delicious with plentiful portions. But this is the worst part: we sat there having been done with dinner for over an hour. We had to literally ask the waiter for a check and he took almost a half hour. And after the bill had been paid and we were relaxing for maybe five minutes, the hostess asked us to leave when the night crowd was coming in! Maybe if you had half decent service we wouldn't still be here at this table for the third hour... Very good food and very poor service. A shame. Could it be because I looked like an American and deserved poor treatment perhaps? Rude and...

Well this is the thing about our experience in this place … food was very good actually “stinco di maiale”… but the waiter who attended us had some kind of weird approach … I don’t know exactly why or what … maybe because our Brazilian euros worth less then the others .. but definitely there was something he had against us .. starting by politeness .. I said “grazie” he did not say a thing .. I asked him a birra “paulaner” and he pretend he did not understand this name showing that he was not for chat .. I believe he did understand actually the name “paulaner”… and for that felling I left that place thinking we had a wonderful day in the city but for dinner in this place even paying we had a such bad felling … so I do not recommend… and for the boss - owner i suggest you to train those guys with the paramount phrase from any open business “the customer is always right and be respectful with them no matter where...

The beer was adequate—nothing special. I don’t understand why the waiter/waitress pretended not to speak English at first. Even when we asked for directions to the restroom and for an English menu, she initially said "No," then disappeared for a while before tossing a few English menus onto our table. The food was okay, but again, nothing special—certainly not enough to overlook their racist behavior. We were the only Asian group there and were noticeably not given bread or any service, while everyone else was being served. It took forever to reorder beer or ask for condiments. To top it off, they handed us the bill in perfect English—right after giving us a leftover bread basket from another table. A complete waste of our money and good appetite.

We ended up coming here twice during our 3 day stay in Bolzano - once planned and the second time due to it being one of the only places open on a rainy Sunday. The stinco was good, the sides were very generous and tasty but unfortunately the skin was not crunchy and inedible. The pork ribs were a little dry but for the value it’s decent. The second time we ordered pulled pork burgers after a long day hike and it was maybe one of the worst burgers we’ve had (not pictured)… I am not sure the pulled pork is actually made in house and the burger bread was soft and soggy and reminiscent of McDonald’s buns. Maybe we got unlucky. Definitely a better place for German food and delicious beer!
