Il Malandrino — Restaurant in Cagliari

Couple of days before we ended up in a restaurant next this one - we wanted to go here but it was not open yet. I made sure that I return when it was open and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing - fresh and tasty! We tasted the sea!! Oysters were amazing and the raw shrimps (never experienced before) were stunning! We come from Norway hence we appreciate the seafood! Staff was knowledgeable- recommended us very good wine and explained everything about the food! Plus very friendly and attentive! Food portion plus the taste and quality and freshness - 5+++ And what made it more special was that it didn’t feel so touristy - they really gave us the the Sardinian experience without paying tourist prices and making us feel like home! Highly recommend it and I will return next year! Keep up with the excellent service and fresh seafood! You deserve more than 4.4 considering the quality of service/food and location! If anything can approve - build a ramp on a street (removable) so clients feel like they sit on a level. The staff is extremely unfriendly and disorganized. The appetizers were good. However, when we asked for another portion of bread, the answer was “we have other clients, we don’t have bread for you”. 6 small pieces of bread for 4 people and the full 3-course menu isn’t enough. Then we found a long black woman's hair in the dish of lobster. When we complained about this the waiter responded rudely “our staff doesn’t have such hair” without any excuses. After 5 minutes he offered us to replace the dish without any sorry. We were very disappointed and I don’t recommend this place because of the rude staff. Also, the prices of the menu are a bit high compared to other restaurants in that area in Cagliari.

€33 charged for a mediocre meal, granted that it consisted of multiple courses starting with octopus/oysters and ending in Lobster served with human hair inside just for your pleasure. When asked for extra bread from the waiter for a total of four guests, audible gasps could be heard as if we were asking for too much from a restaurant that had too little guests to begin with. To top it all off, asides from the desert that was included at this “fine” establishment (aka. there was no desert) we were treated with elaborate excuses about why there was hair in my meal and why they couldn’t give us more bread.
