They have an offer for two aperitivo and something to eat for 20 Euro which they quite visible advertise. We pointed to it and told that this is what we wanted and we chose from the aperitives from the menu. Unfortunately (beside beer) only Aperol Spritz is a valid "Aperitivo" for this offer?! We then agreed and he asked us if we wanted small or big drinks. We first said big to which he replied that this will cost 30 Euro instead. We then chose to just get two aperitivo from the menu and nothing more.

We could observe that two other tourist groups also were confused and when asked about the size and directly pointing at our glasses to understand if that would be small, he chose to not answer it and only said "well, small is small".

This is far from professional behaviour and unfortunately gives a bed feeling of cheating for an otherwise nice bar.

Edit (in response to the answer): I added a picture of the board where I clearly pointed to for ordering (as well as the other tourists actually). I can't see the limitations about the possible drinks there and neither something about the size differences. If international standard size applies, then no need to describe it as small?

If the waiter would go like "sure, if you want though, we could also offer big cocktails, but then the prize would be 30 Euro", then it would be a...

A bit surprised by so many bad reviews, particularly around food and price. Obviously everybody's expectation and experience will differ, but on a recent trip to Cagliari we found ourselves here 4 times, for breakfast, snacks and drinks/cocktails at different times of day. Yes, it is more a 'touristy' offering (if you want 'good' food go to a restuarant), but for its type it if perfectly adequate, reasonably/competitively (and clearly) priced, and the sort of place you could happily spend a few hours over drinks and not feel rushed to leave. I would not go there for proper aperitivo (the cocktail list is quite limited), but if I find myself in Cagliari again I wouldn't hesitate to repeatedly pop in for drinks or...

Nice service at first, after taking the orders(table of 14) everything went wrong, slow service, some mains were sold out, replaced them with other food, additional waiting time after the appetisers (very good) then after waiting another ridiculous time, all mains were out but some orders were wrong but we were starved and we easy ppl all coming from food and beverage sector, however the staff attitude changed towards us.. Not our fault if hairs were in two plates and paper in the handmade mozzarella.. Overall it's a great location, nice drinks, kids friendly with toys, books and even a cute kids size toilet! Food s ok but slow and could have done without the inconvenience of the wrong order, the hairs...

A pleasant surprise to find a craft beer in a place like thus, the local IPA (Isola from the northern part of island) and for reasonable price for quite a touristy location (€6,5 pint). And a genuine czech Pilsner Urquell (€4,5 pint). We didn't eat, had just french fries, average quality i'd say cooked from frozen prefabricated product, served with those tiny sacks of mayo and ketchup (more plastic than the content itself). The price was a bit higher than expected (€5/serving) but for quite a generous portion. Service charge €1,6... Overall okay, a bit expensive but still slightly above average mainly due to the IPA and a lovely maracuya plant ;)

The advantages of this coffeehouse are many. In addition to its very central geographical location and its sidewalk terrace, its main draw is that it stays open and serves food all day long without interruption, while most other eating establishments take a break in the afternoon. I fell upon it when I wanted to have a meal at 4:30 PM and Rafè was the only place that served cooked dishes in that Cagliari neighborhood. The starter of Sardinian cold cuts , cheeses and olives was generous, tasted good and hit the spot. The portion of the pasta dish was big, but the pasta was unsatisfactory. Coffee was excellent.
