Five stars is nowhere near enough for the experience my wife and I have just had. It was our last night and I phoned to try and secure a table and the person who answered was so accommodating.
The restaurant is modern and beautifully decorated, but also respects the old features of the building. The bench sitting wraps itself around you as if cuddling you preparing you for something very special. The kitchen is open and you can see the magic unfolding.
We were given some freshly baked sourdough and this came with a truffle butter. I've never tasted anything like it, the sourdough was incredible and I asked Luca about this and he took the time to explain the process and hydration.
One thing that stands out is Luca is a master of his craft and he is proud and passionate of what he has produced. We started with oysters and we tried a few different flavours which were breath taking. I could have sat there all night eating oysters.
We also tried the special of the day and I am hoping I get this right I think it was scorpion fish which had been cured for 9 days. There were some frozen raspberries, soy sauce and other ingredients. The flavours were beautifully put together and it was a dish we didn't want to end.
The mains were again breathtaking, each mouthful was an experience and the flavours just kept coming. Each dish Luca explained what it was and this food is cooked with passion. The desserts were incredible which finished our experience off perfectly.
The staff are happy, knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome. I wish we had found this place at the start of the holiday but we had an incredible evening and were honoured to have experienced Luca's passion for unbelievable food.
This place is a massive must you will not be disappointed. You will need to book, I know we left it last minute but this restaurant is firmly fixed on the map and Luca is as I said a master at his craft so this place is going to get booked up. You will have an incredible evening and an unforgettable experience........... Enjoy.
Thank you Luca and the staff for an...
Read moreNakoa in Cagliari has a sleek, modern interior, with a striking brick-vaulted ceiling lit by contemporary fixtures. The bar lines the right side, while the left features grey-green banquette seating with small tables for two. The open-plan kitchen adds theatre to the space, though it does mean you leave carrying a hint of cooking oil.
They offer tasting menus of 5–8 courses, priced €60–90, though oysters are not included. The cooking leans toward Asian-inspired fusion, with a strong focus on seafood alongside some meat dishes. Coperto is €2 per person.
An amuse-bouche of crackers with dry-aged fish was delicate and understated. Warm sourdough bread with juniper butter was a distinctive and thoughtful touch.
Among the highlights were the oysters: one preparation with cherries, mirin, and karkadé, which was an outstanding combination—perhaps one of the best I’ve had.
The gratin oysters, Bourguignonne-style, were also excellent, though the first version edged ahead.
A dish of mullet with peach, basil, pico de gallo, and wasabi impressed—five generous pieces paired with a vibrant tomato-horseradish salsa that tied it all together beautifully.
The scialatielli with red prawns in a green curry and lemongrass sauce was another standout: small raw prawns added sweetness and texture, while the sauce delivered a well-judged balance of richness and spice.
We paired the meal with a chilled local red wine from near Cagliari, which complemented the menu perfectly.
Service throughout was attentive and professional, making for a...
Read moreDue to the perfect ratings at Google Maps we have visited this Restaurant in July, 11th in 2025. There are not many tables so it makes sense to do a Reservation what we have done. The first impression when entering the Restaurant it is looking very spartan or basic. Fast we got the Menu and Wine list but no list for non alcoholic Drinks. We ordered one bottle of Mineralwater but it wasn't available!!! They only serve filtered water out of the pipe... Then I have ordered nonalcoholic Beer which also wasn't available. Instead of this I have ordered a Coke and Sanpellegrino nonalcoholic Cocktail. Then we have had a look at the Menu which isn't the same like you can see on their Website. So we have ordered Spare Ribs ( 3 little pieces = 24 € !) and Pasta with little cut (!) pieces (!) of Prawns (26 €). From the House we have received an Amuse Gueule and fresh bread ( good taste) with Butter. The Spare Ribs were totally dry. The waiter has asked for my satisfaction and I have informed him. But there wasn't any offer for compensation. Nowhere worldwide we have received Pasta with cutted pieces of Prawns. This is not matching the Price Level of this Restaurant. Instead of fresh Sashimi only Dry Aged SASHIMI ( as a Special) was available. Coperto was charged with 3,50 € per person.
My subjective (!) individual rating: Ambiance: 2 Stars Value for money: 2 Stars Preparation of Meals: 2 Stars Service: 3...
