Wow. The first 5 stars in Cagliari. Amazing restaurant. All dishes are based on some sort of bread. The crunchy bread with olive oil you get as you sit down was excellent. I ordered a pane frattau with pork sausage and a poached egg. The closest thing to a pane frattau could be a pizza made with a burrito tortilla. But of course this is not a burrito tortilla, it's this soft and extremely thin pane carasau (but not the crunchy version). It was delicious. Something so unusual. Then I ordered the zuppa gallurese. Another incredible dish. It's thin layers of bread with percorino sardo cheese, to that broth is added and it all topped with a thick layer of pecorino sardo. Then it's grilled. It's absolutely banging.

“il pane frattau” was born on the occasion of a visit by the king of Sardinia to his territories. On that occasion, the housewives who had to prepare lunch for him, having only what they produced at their disposal, had the idea of seasoning the carasau bread with tomato sauce, eggs from their chicken coop and grated pecorino cheese. The dish thrilled the king and since then has entered the tradition of Sardinian cuisine.” Particular dish in “Sardinia” which is similar to Pizza but with a different paste! The atmosphere was good, the staff are so kind and friendly, the price is fair in respect to the quality of food!

About the food: just go and try it, you'll be amazed! But what makes it that extra special, is the service and experience that the amazing team provides you with. Before you even see the menu, Antonella gives you an introduction to the kind of food that they serve and their concept. She will also advise you on options based on your tastes. She even told us "don't order more than what you're already ordering as that will be enough for both of you", which tells you she's more focused on giving you a good experience, rather than getting money out of you. Then Cristina was very attentive, sweet and professional in all her interactions with us during the various steps of serving our meal. Both interactions were so nice that we ended up having personal conversations about life, which tells you how nice and sweet people they are. I couldn't recommend more a place to go and try authentic Sardinian food, with the most hospitable team. Thank you so much, Antonela...
