Lo Scoglio Delle Sirene — Restaurant in Capri

Very disappointing service here, we waited around for five minutes for someone to acknowledge us. When they finally did approach they said to sit wherever, then another lady came and asked us to move as it was reserved even though it didn’t say so.

We moved to another table and waited a good 15 minutes to order even though they were quiet? My friends didn’t feel like eating at this point but I ordered anyway, I ordered a pizza and a coke. When the food arrived It was the worst experience ever, we we’re absolutely swormed by wasps to the point I couldn’t eat as they were literally landing on my food as I was trying it eat it, I know this isn’t the restaurants fault but they just watched without offering a box to put the pizza inside or anything. I was trying to cover it with napkins.

My friends had to leave the table because it was so unbearable, I was looking around for someone to take the bill as we all just wanted to leave, but no staff came over. After another 5 minutes I went over to the counter to pay there, he asked if it was for pizza and coke and I said yes and tapped my card to pay.

I was gobsmacked to see a notification on my phone to say €25 as the pizza was advertised for €10 and surely my coke can’t have been €15… when I went back to ask why they had charged me so much he said they had charged me a cover charge for everyone at the table!! There was absolutely no mention of this when we were seated and nothing on the menu about it…

I can’t believe they would have the audacity to charge us for such an awful experience that we couldn’t wait to get away from, would not recommend to anyone I don’t know how this place...

I saw the reviews before dining here, but I was hoping they were an exaggeration. If anything, they were TOO NICE. It’s a beautiful setting and there aren’t really any other food options around, so they take advantage of tourists. All of the meals were slightly overpriced, but they said their happy hour special of the day was the shrimp risotto so I assumed it would be in a similar price range as their other entrees. Yet when I received the bill, my dish was almost 60 euros! While the other menu items were around €20. It felt like such a scam and they target Americans, pretending to not understand English when you ask them questions about item prices. On top of that, the food was disgusting. My dish was inedible (and I’ll eat anything.) It tasted old and flavorless, the shrimps eyes were intact and staring at me. They also added a cover charge just for sitting down at one of their tables (we were the only customers), and there was no to-go option. I understand in Italy a cover charge is a typical procedure, but €15 euros for a place with no customers and gross food is obscene. They also charged us €10 euros for dirty tap water and another €10 for hard breadsticks we didn’t order. We tried to tell them we didn’t want them and we weren’t going to eat them, but they charged us anyway to make an extra buck. Anyways, please save yourselves the trouble and the money. We had a really poor experience at this restaurant as the woman in picture is really racist. We were travelling with a 1.5 yr old baby and everywhere we go, we usually get immediate attention or preference because of the baby. However, here when we were entering, we saw many empty tables and started moving towards one, but this woman spoke to us in a rude tone to wait at the entrance. Then she made us wait almost 15 mins with the baby and other stuff in our hand, while our baby was also feeling sick after an hour at sea. She went about taking orders from other customers, going in-and-out of the kitchen, and roaming around (as you see in the pics) without paying any attention to us or the crying baby, and we could see some of the sitting customers also feeling bad for us.
