Hotel della Piccola Marina — Hotel in Capri

This is not a 4 Star hotel! Do not be fooled. For what we paid, we were EXTREMELY disappointed. First I will start with the Pro’s: decent breakfast, size of rooms are good, and staff at breakfast was nice. Con’s: no WiFi service in your room at all. We had to ask the front desk twice and still wasn’t fixed. Every time we wanted to look up directions or be on WiFi we had to go to the common area where breakfast was served. We got no service at all in room. This is a HUGE inconvenience when you are paying these prices and need to check in with work. Sounds like other reviewers experienced the same problem and they have yet to fix it. Our minibar fridge was broken and didn’t get fully fixed until our 2nd day there. The 2nd night we had to change rooms at 12:30am because the AC stopped working. Front desk guy came to try and help twice and couldn’t fix it, so we had to get up in the middle of the night and move. Hotel itself is really outdated, stuck in the late 90’s. Beds and Pillows are hard as a rock, you only get one pillow that’s extremely flat and hard. They don’t provide robes in the bathroom and we received dirty towels twice. When we let the front desk staff know about all our inconveniences they offered to pay for 1 drink on our bill. We started laughing because we thought it was a joke. One 12 euro drink when we paid close to 300 euros a night to have all these issues? They should be ashamed of themselves if this is what they consider a 4 Star hotel. Take your money...

Review by Gerrit N from August 2023, was spot on. We have traveled to the Amalfi coast many times and always have had a very positive experience with hotels being as advertised for the price. This one was underwhelming. Not a bad hotel, but expected a 4 star and it was not, especially for the price. |The room was not well appointed, no robes, comforter, and very uncomfortable mattress. No extra supplies in the room, towels, toilet tissue,etc. it is close enough location to the square, restaurants and shopping, too close to take a taxi, but still a ten minute walk. The beach is many steps down the the iconic marina, steep, and only for the fit. We were fine to walk down, back up was more challenging in the heat, would taxi back next time.|Breakfast is not bad, just worst in all of Italy at our many stays. Pool area is mediocre. Hotel is very quiet and sleepy at night with no bar to get a nightcap. The first night there were too very noisy dogs upstairs ( they should have been on the main level). The staff was very nice and apologetic. The staff is very helpful but did not agree with their restaurant recommendations, research your own.|This was our first trip to Capri, and happy we took friends recommendation to not just come for a day trip, it’s very nice at night. Even in September, many people, many tours, but hear much worse in summer.|Summary:|If you are willing to spend 4 star$$, for a 3 star experience, you won’t be disappointed...

The staff knows how to welcome the guests. All of the staff is always available to give you the best possible experience.||From the first moment we arrived, the hosts managed our luggage along the stairs and a senior looking and undoubtedly cigar loving man, processed us most efficiently through the reception whilst giving us a comprehensive update on the must visits and best places to have lunch and dinner. We felt immediately welcome. An the young multilingual and always kind brunette at the counter booked our perfect spot in what must be the most romantic restaurant on the Island, Il Geranio, overseeing the gardens of Emp. Augustus and the beautiful bay.||We enjoyed our stay in a great room, nicely sized and perfectly maintained by an always smiling and very available housekeeping team.||The breakfast service was above average but simple at the same time. A nice variety of cereals, pastries, and of course the incontournable mozzarella cheese, veggies and plenty of fresh seasonal fruit made it perfect for me.||We spent in between our walks and visits quite some moments enjoying the swimming pool. Our host at the pool, Chris, made us being annual guests. ||In short, a great ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ experience. Impossible to 'eave this place unsatisfied!...
