The menu has plenty of options to choose from, which was a plus here. Standouts from my selection were the aubergine ‘meatballs’ and the sumac chicken, which were both done very well. The ‘meatballs’ were very rich and savory and had lots of layers, and the chicken was spiced well and cooked perfectly. The other dish, the pasta alla norma, was pretty bland, but the textures were all good. The wines were all decent — the nero d’avola and syrah being pretty standard, and the grillo being very nice. The place is decorated well, and everything from the tables to the plates to the flatware was clearly well thought out. The attention to detail wasn’t really there though, as we were seated at a table with an empty olive oil bottle right after opening, and I had to ask a couple different times for water. All in all, I would recommend this place to friends for a casual bite or a first date, but this wouldn’t necessarily be somewhere I would go to...
Read moreThis was the worst meal I had in Italy. I got there when it opened and i felt rushed to order. I ordered the swordfish and the artichoke as a starter. Then a fried thing came out. It took 3 servers to explain it was the fish. Which it did not look like. They didnt realize I had ordered a starter. I thought i had ordered grilled fish. It was a roll that was so dry I only ate 1/3 of it. Then the starter came out. It was bitter and salty. No other flavors. I filled up on bread and asked for the bill. After the first course problem they ignored me. No checking in. I had wanted a special last night and I went home to eat other food. They took off one course but it was not flavorful and dry. I love food and I wanted to cry I have worked as a server myself so sending orders back I dont do often. I felt horrible and rude but the food made me feel sick. I honestly cant see how they are given...
Read moreI went to this restaurant based on them being mentioned in the Michelin guide. It was a let down!! I ordered two raw oysters, tuna carpaccio, and lobster spaghetti. The oysters were average, one was pretty badly mangled. The tuna carpaccio was pretty good, but I guess it would be hard to mess this up. The spaghetti was decent. There was hardly any lobster meat although the sauce was ok. The worst things about this restaurant were: Service and Atmosphere. Service was downright rude. Just one example: Once I told the waiter I was done and would not order dessert, he essentially asked whether he should bring the bill. This is NEVER done in Europe! The customer is always the one asking for the bill, even in a cafe. The rest of the service was curt, almost insulting. Atmosphere? What atmosphere? The place was...
