An absolute gem in Catania – we loved everything about Bar Ventimiglia. We came here for breakfast and ended up having one of the most delightful experiences of our trip. Everything was simply perfect: the brioches were warm and fluffy, the granita was refreshing and full of flavor, and the small pastries were absolutely delicious. And of course, the coffee – as you’d hope for in Italy – was top-notch. What truly made the visit unforgettable, though, was the owner. He was full of charm and good humor, always ready with a joke, and made us feel genuinely welcome. This is a beautiful little spot in Catania, slightly off the main tourist paths, but absolutely worth seeking out. We’d come back in a heartbeat. A truly wonderful experience!

TOURIST TRAP!!! It’s funny because all of the negative reviews are about this place overcharging. 3€ for a cappuccino is outrageous. Nowhere in Italy have I ever paid that much and I’ve been here for several weeks. Right when we walked in, I felt weird about the interaction. We ordered 2 cappuccinos and the man at the cashier asked if we also wanted orange juice and we said no. Then he asked about food and pastries which we said no. It felt like he was pushing more sales. The cappuccinos were good but also it’s Italy so I haven’t had a bad cappuccino. Lastly, he didn’t show us an itemized bill at the end. There are plenty of great cafes in Catania. I wouldn’t come back to this one.

I highly recommend visiting this bar. The atmosphere is fantastic, the local delicacies and drinks are truly delicious, and above all, the staff is outstanding, offering excellent customer service—especially to foreign guests. I’m from Poland and was pleasantly surprised to receive a drink served in a cup from Warsaw. I had a wonderful time there. Be sure to stop by this place when you’re in Catania!!

The atmosphere is fantastic, the local delicacies and drinks are truly delicious, and above all, the staff is outstanding, offering excellent customer service—especially to foreign guests. ✹ Breakfast Delight at a Local Pasticceria ✹
