I hardly ever write reviews especially if they are negative but I feel compelled to after my experience here. The service wasn’t great but I don’t mind that so much - the food didn’t taste great which isn’t also great but also don’t mind too much. The worst part is that I got food poisoning from eating seafood from this place. Very disappointing. It’s one thing for the service or food to be so-so but food poisoning is a whole other level. Such a shame. No good view is worth food poisoning.

Edit: they say they don’t use seafood but I am not sure they understand gamberi is seafood… and gamberi is on the menu.. and it gave me food poisoning… it’s the right restaurant trust me.

Edit: you usually get food poisoning up to 12 hours after eating not while you are eating!!!. I got it after 9 hours. You don’t go to hospital for food poisoning that is just silly. You wait for it to pass as I had to wait a whole day of vomiting for it to pass. You prepared the prawns badly and I got sick and now you are being defensive about it and I can’t say I am surprised. At first you claimed that it was the wrong restaurant as I see you have done numerous times on various other bad reviews and you can’t hide behind this one now. I think you should take ownership of the fact that you prepared the prawns wrong and someone got food poisoning from them: take ownership. I was sick for days after visiting this restaurant and it is my right as a consumer to report my experience from a restaurant. If you want to maintain your reputation as a restaurant look at your food management practices so that people don’t get sick. Disgraceful.

Also I just want to add why would I lie about this? I was in Sicily on holiday for a short period and your restaurant led me to be sick for most of it. Why would I make this story up. I have a right to post my experience at your restaurant especially as it pertains to making me sick. You threatening me with legal action tells me everything I need to know about you and your restaurant. I stand by my review even...

When I passed at 12:30pm on 4/10, I saw the pizzeria was open, and many people eating, because it’s not during the opening hours they write on google map, so I went to ask the staff if they are open now and until what time they close.

Surprisingly the staff told me that they are open and if I want to eat I can sit now, and they open until 3pm and will reopen at 6pm. I said okay I’ll be back later, so, I came there again at 2:15pm, but they told me that they are closed already and didn’t let me sit…..at the same time the couple next to me just had 2 pizza arrived on their table, and the staff were cleaning the other tables too.

Well…they could have just told me the correct closing time is at 2pm not 3pm, so I don’t have to walk all the way here for nothing!

Or maybe they only open the lunch time for locals, as they only write dinner hours on the google map. However they DID open the lunch hours on that day. Feel really bad for this

Update for owner’s reply: Don’t tell me that I went to the wrong restaurant, it’s Da Sasa! Your restaurant! And all the staff wears the dark uniform that writes Da Sasa name on it!! Very dishonest owner, rather tell more lies than just admit it.

Update for owner’s reply 2: You can continue denying your restaurant wasn’t open at lunch hours on that day, it’s your choice I totally respect it, but both of us know very well what’s the truth is and I feel really sorry for you to make all these lies. If this is the way how you run a restaurant, even you make good food ( didn’t have chance to taste it though), still you lose the heart from the...

The answer of the owner down below tells you a lot about this restaurant.

That was nothing. We ordered mixed fried starters and got a huge plate of average fries with two cheese balls and two something filled with potato with mayonnaise. Weird starter and everything but tasty. Who eats a big portion of fries for a starter and which restaurant sales it as "mixed fried starters"? The Octopus that sounded so good was not eatable at all, chewy like leather it came with "so called" homemade potato cream (mashed potatoes with water and no herbs ) my wife couldn't eat it and gave it back, fortunately we had not to pay for it. The mushroom pizza looked amazing on first sight but was tasteless, big pile of soft dough with mozarella and mushrooms. Not tomato sauce, no oregano, no love. So we paid 25€ and got us a nice take away pizza for 5€ afterawhich was really good. Don't understand all the good reviews. Sad story when you are hoping for a nice evening and good food.

To your very professional answer below: Indeed frozen octopus is better than yours, because of the collageneous as you probably don't know. There are different ways of preparing one, you simply failed as we told you in the restaurant. A mix usually says a variation of something, not 90% of one thing. 7€ for French fries are sad. A tip from a "coward with a sad wife": If guests leave more than half of there food untouched, a good/motivated waiter/owner would asked if something is wrong with the food, instead of abusing those people who pay for your salary! We call that...

TERRIBLE SERVICE - BEWARE! I would give zero stars if possible. It’s hard to be objective about the food because of the poor treatment. We booked a reservation based on the positive reviews so were surprised & disappointed when drink orders were not taken after being seated for an unreasonable amount of time, plates weren’t cleared, dessert / coffee weren’t offered. We felt invisible. When you spend the entire dining experience distracted by the inattentive service you know it’s best just to pay the bill, leave as quickly as possible and warn others. In response to the owner’s glib reply: suggesting I was reviewing the wrong restaurant is laughable but not surprising and consistent with our experience. For whatever it’s worth - I’m a “she”, my name was spelled incorrectly on the reservation and I’ve attached photos of our reservation and bill. In response to the owners 2nd reply - we did not speak with you and most certainly did not tell you everything was ok. We couldn’t get anyone’s attention to take our dessert order or give us a bill for that matter. There was a woman at the cash when we went inside to pay and we did tell her how unhappy we were with the service - 3 times. She had no reply for us so perhaps it was a language barrier. Regardless, thank you for your kind offer - we appreciate the gesture.

Without a doubt, the worst restaurant I’ve eaten in Sicily in the nine years I’ve been coming here. The first course sounded great. I asked if the tuna was gonna be served rare it was with oranges and onions one of my favorites, the tuna were little pebbles of rocks overdone Old inedible other than the orange wedges €15 down the drain. Second course, Buta, one of my favorites serve with supposedly swordfish, eggplant, and mint you would need a microscope to find any of those things. For the main course, I was concerned I asked him to repeat how it was gonna be prepared. I ordered Seabass. It was gonna be sautéed with cherry tomatoes, capers and olives sounded good, awful a small fillet of frozen fish poached in tomato sauce never saw fresh tomato and it hasn’t seen the water in months. Overall, one of the worst meals in all of Italy in 20 years of traveling, the only good news is I’m gonna have a double gelato because I’m starving don’t waste your time. I should’ve walked out when it took 30 minutes for them to take our dinner order, never a good sign Don’t waste your money even tourist won’t be happy.

Service was excellent — our waiter spoke great English and described the dishes very well. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. As fine dining it’s not quite there, but as authentic homemade Italian food — absolutely yes. A bit too rich for me, but my husband really enjoyed it. We tried a seasonal dish with tuna roe — very interesting idea, they use shavings of dried tuna. With the lemon touch it was really tasty. For dessert: the panna cotta was a bit too firm, though the flavor was excellent. We also tried the pistachio panacota dessert — it seemed like pistachio paste from a jar, but still delicious. Sitting is pleasant, and after sunset the sound of the sea is lovely. The crowd is average, calm. The place isn’t touristy. A local recommended it—it’s a restaurant owned by his friend. They offered to let us take the wine cork. I didn’t like the limoncello, but I’m not an expert. They gave a 25% tip. The staff deserves it. Using it was a great time. It was also awesome—thanks to the restaurant and the staff. Overall, it feels like a cozy homemade-style restaurant. Solid 4/5.
