Very disappointed! I was very excited to try the pizza at Pizzium Como, as the reviews seemed pretty good. After my experience I read a couple of the bad reviews and I had the same bad experience. I arrived at 22:05 (restaurant is open until 23:30) and at first nobody even cared to place me or take my order. After I asked the waiter, I was encountered with a very bad attitude and told they wouldn’t serve me food in the restaurant as it is already so late and that I could only get a take-away pizza. Mind you the restaurant was full of people starting to eat their pizza and far from being empty. Hungry nonetheless, I took the rude offer and got a take-away pizza. Waiting time was okay, but when I looked at the pizza it felt rushed and smaller than on the pictures, with an odd shape. Almost like they didn’t care and just slapped some ingredients together and sent it out.
If you don’t want guests coming in 1 1/2 hours before closing than put that on your website!!! There’s neither a “closing time of the kitchen” nor a text stating “10pm is too late to eat in the restaurant” on your website. Tell your staff to be respectful and nicer to the guests. Look maybe your restaurant can be a great experience under some circumstances, but unfortunately today you really messed mine up. Very disappointed, as I was really looking forward to eat here and give you a...
Read moreI rarely give 4* to a pizza restaurant but this one deserves it!Recommended by the locals as one of the 4 best pizza restaurants in Como. It was just a 3 mins walk from the hotel I was staying, so very convenient and I thought I would try. Well, it didn't dissapoint.
Modern looking restaurant, with nice deco, simple but accomplished. There is a display on shelves of all the ingredients they use, which are all regional and of the highest quality.
Clearly very popular with the locals and sooo busy on Boxing Day at dinner time!
The menu is ample and everybody feels at home. There were couples, groups of friends, families, some of them 3 generations. Lovely, fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Although not a pizza fan myself, I know when a pizza is good and this one was one of the very best I've ever had. My choice was Molisse with extra funghi, beautifully cooked, lovely flavours and a generous portion.
The service is good, staff are very pleasant and most of them speak English. I would certainly recommend it.
If you find yourself in Como and fancy a pizza, give it a go. You won't be...
Read moreTried this pizza place with my family while out for a walk, and honestly, we should’ve just kept walking. First red flag? It’s located right next to a sewer treatment plant—not exactly the kind of aroma you want mixing with mozzarella.
As for the food… wow. I ordered their “house special” which proudly advertised Italian sausage. What I got instead was sliced hot dog. Yes, like the kind from a ballpark concession stand. It was barely warmed, rubbery, and definitely not Italian (unless Oscar Mayer has started a trattoria I don’t know about).
The crust was undercooked, the sauce was watery, and the cheese tried its best but couldn’t save the disaster unfolding beneath it. I gave it two bites before giving up. Honestly, the seagulls in the parking lot seemed to enjoy it more than I did.
Only redeeming quality? The server was nice—but even she looked like she knew I was in for disappointment.
Skip this place unless your idea of pizza involves mystery meat and the scent of industrial wastewater....
