I've never written a Google review before, but I felt so mistreated at this restaurant that I want to share my own experience. We arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before the kitchen closed at 10:50 PM. I ordered a Caesar salad which was very dry. Additionally, the chicken was extremely dry and tough. There was hardened parmesan cheese at the bottom of the salad. We tried to complain about this to the waiter twice, but the waiter said 'I don’t know' and walked away. Since no restaurant except McDonald's was open at this time, I had to eat the food as I was very hungry.
When the bill arrived, we asked if we could get a refund for the food. At this point, three different people came to our table before the owner approached us. We had to explain the situation three times. At this point, we only received one apology. The restaurant owner raised their voice at us and insisted that since I ate the food, there couldn't have been a problem. Additionally, they claimed to see all the dishes leaving the restaurant, and out of the 50 dishes served today, none had an issue. They spoke rudely to us, didn't let us explain, and it felt like they were accusing us of lying. Eventually, we received a discount, but what we wanted most were apologies and better customer service.
This was just our experience, but the owner's and the staff's attitude was far from respectful, and we were left with a really bad feeling from...
Read moreThis restaurant was highly recommended to us by the receptionist in our hotel and I'm so glad that she did, because we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Stefano kindly reserved a table for us even though it was last minute. Though most people would prefer to sit outdoors, I'm glad we were given a table on the first floor instead, coz we still had a great view of the lake from our seat, while being safe from mosquitoes and smokers. The food and wine were delicious, and service was excellent. We had a big lunch, so as tempting as it was to fill up with two courses, we could only have one course for dinner, and opted for the rigatoni carbonara and the spaghetti alle vongole. Both were cooked Al dente, seasoned well and the carbonara was especially authentic - no cream, only eggs and parmigiano, with lots of guanciale. Really happy with this restaurant, so don't think all restaurants by the lake are tourist traps! This one was definitely...

Tasty food, but a very unpleasant surprise on the bill
The food at Platea Ristorante was very tasty—we ordered two pizzas and a pasta dish, and everything was really good. The drinks, a Coca-Cola Zero and a lemonade, were also fine. Unfortunately, after the meal, we were met with a very unpleasant surprise.
The total bill came to 90 euros, of which 30 euros was the coperto fee. This is absolutely unfair, and we have never encountered anything like it anywhere else in Italy, despite traveling here regularly even several times a year. Such a high fee should be clearly marked on the menu, not come as a shock when paying.
The taste of the food does not compensate for the feeling of being deceived. Unfortunately, for this reason, we cannot recommend...
