Visini Como — Restaurant in Como

TOURISTS BEWARE. This restaurant massively overcharges and rips you off.

I went to Visini for a light lunch as the first stop in Como with my husband and 2 year old toddler. This restaurant experience was a disgrace in what was otherwise a wonderful day trip to Lake Como. Upon entry, we were told that the al la carte menu was not in service and no fresh pasta could be served. Not a problem, we were only having a light bite anyways. We ordered 1 slice of lasagne, 1 piece of pastry, 6 pieces of shrimp, a single serving of Russian salad, and 2 glasses of wine. The bill came to $100 Euros. We come from New York City, and we have never seen such outrageous prices for such mediocre food. We walked out fully understanding we were being ripped off, but I'd be doing a disservice to the public by not flagging this dishonorable, outrageous bad practice. I would not be able to feel good about ripping off a young family. The staff should be ashamed...

On a visit with my family we happened upon Visini Como. We ended up there two nights in a row due to the level of service we received combined with the delicious food and beverages.

We are an indecisive bunch so we asked for Cristian our server to suggest some options for cocktails to us. We were not disappointed. I actually told my mom at one point that they were the best specialty cocktails I’ve ever had. (And I lived/worked in 5 star restaurants in Philadelphia & Los Angeles!)

The restaurant atmosphere is relaxed and the food was absolutely delicious. When I visit Italy again I’ll be sure to make a trip to Lake Como just to go back to Visini again.

Stopped here for lunch. It felt like we were dining at the Chef's table. The staff was friendly and informative with wonderful suggestions. We picked up a couple bottles of their Olive Oil and a liquor that a friend of the owner makes. The food was delicious, simple, and full of flavor. When you look in the window you see the deli style counter, which might make some not realize what an amazing experience awaits them. Well worth a visit for a pleasant meal.
