A Crudo — Restaurant in Florence

Wonderful and surprising find! We were wandering south of the Arno looking for dinner and thinking about checking out some of the "big" places on TripAdvisor and Frommers. We saw this tiny spot and after looking at the small number of reviews and the simple menu posted by the door decided to give it a try. So glad we did! Creative menu, with an emphasis on simple and incredibly fresh ingredients. The chef took us through his supply chain to show who provided our meal, and it was encouraging to see all local providers. We had the crostino with beef tongue, crostino with mozzarella, tomato, and salami, an assorted yet simple cheese plate with honey and jam, two types of beef tartare (the basic one with lemon, oil, salt, and pepper and one with capers and anchovy), a liter of the house chianti, and a lovely dessert pear dish with pecorino and honey. All this for 75 euro. The chef spent time talking with us about his passion for food and aspirations as a chef, and we left with having one of the most satisfying meals so far in our Italy itinerary! While we didn't try it there was also a vegetarian-friendly menu that sounded appetizing....

With my friend we spend our last time in Firenze I that restaurant and we were so happy to eat there for our last night. The food is just amazing, the atmosphere is perfect and the cooker/waiter was so great and gentleman with us. The price is not high for the good quality. We went there really late and the cooker took care very good of us ! We will never forget our last time in Firenze. Thank you very much for your kindness ! Farm to table in Florence. The menu is disarmingly simple: gorgeous fresh ingredients, combined simply for phenomenal food. Decor is a bit campy but open and airy. Gorgeous brushcettas, salads, desserts. Clean, crisp flavors. The vegetarian options are properly salted (unlike in most of Italy which oversalt those dishes without prosciutto), meat options are fabulously balanced. Desserts are flawless. Coffee is perfect. I hope every gourmand finds this...
