All'Antico Vinaio — Restaurant in Florence

Anticipated going here for almost 2 years i went in may 2024 in Florence it was TERRIBLE i couldn't believe it! The no skills or knowledge employees is shocking they some how managed to ruin a basic sandwich of prosciutto and mozzarella. on the mortadella and pistaccio the pistaccio cream was so powerful and in such high amount you can barely taste mortadella or cheese the custom prosciutto n fresh mozzarella was drowned in olive oil and a low amount of prosciutto n mozzarella tasting only of bitter olive oil we tried 5 sandwiches NOT ONE of them was GOOD!im in queens nyc you can get a superior sandwich at ANY Italian sandwich shop compared to this it was a HUGE let down the employees were so unskilled and ignorant to the ingredients & tastes in front of them its disgusting and pathetic! Save your money and go to a REAL small italian salumeria especially in the south of Italy Naples /Campania, Calabria, Sicily,etc it would almost never happen. I'm a chef and have had some of the best food in my life in southern italy over my 5 trips there and many countries around the world and im from nyc one of the flavor Capitals of the world I couldn't belive how many restaurants had terrible food and had 4.5 plus reviews on Google realized many tourist have no idea what great food is and thats sad save your money go off the beaten path and experience the real tastes of Italy the real culture not this disgusting scam these "google" restaurants run.these people have built businesses on garbage to mediocre tourist food. And it's sad people travel spend money and don't get to taste the real flavors of the country from real skilled chefs and skilled family cooks to deliver...

Went to get these "famous" sandwiches today after seeing the David statue and the man behind the cash register was extremely rude. He made us order with the man standing right beside him and then asked that same man what we ordered. Like he wasn't standing right in front of us hearing every word we said. Like he was too good to talk to customers himself. It's a sandwich shop, get over yourself dude. You can tell this man prides himself on bad customer service.

I almost walked out but decided to try the sandwich anyway. REALLY hard and cold bread with bland toppings. Trust me when I say this is nothing special. You can get a better sandwich anywhere else in the city, anywhere else in the world. These sandwiches are NOTHING like what I've seen on the YouTube reviews. I wish I had listened to other reviewers saying these sandwiches are average. It's true. Not worth the price. Definitely not worth standing in line. Not worth the pompous cashier that can't be bothered to take your order or treat you with respect....

Disappointing! The place is hyped for nothing special!

Bread: The bread was too hard to chew and very cold. The bread was hurtful to my palate and jaw🥲but since I was hungry I just tried to eat it anyway. My friend and I tried the Firenze and La manolo.

Taste: The Firenze which had salami in it was nice but the La manolo was absolutely tasteless with weird consistency.

Generally: We came to Florence to this shop to try the fresh Italian cuisine and we were so excited about it and the condition of the food was so bad that it easily changed our mood. We left the city with a bad impression!

Tip: Do not waste any time, money or energy on this shop!

It is not really worth it to trust the brands which are not giving proper services and products!!! It is not fair to create any youtube or instagram content and advertising such places while knowing that the quality should have been better...
