BOOKING: I had great difficulty with trying to make a reservation - there was a lack of response even when I tried to follow up older emails to make a reservation in advance. However, it was much easier when booking through Google Maps/The Fork.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: The service was really good. When we arrived at the restaurant, they showed us to our table and treated us respectfully and made us feel welcome. The staff and waiting team were accommodating and pleasant and after dinner, the reception desk downstairs ordered a taxi for us to return to our hotel - their customer service and hospitality made the experience a pleasant one.

FOOD: The quality of the food was exceptional and they appeared to use fresh ingredients. The dishes we ordered tasted really good and looked very appetising with creative designs for presentation. We ordered the Insalata nizzarda con tonno rosso alla piastra (Salade niçoise with grilled red tuna), Spaghettone integrale al pomodoro biologico con basilico e olive taggiasche (Whole wheat spaghettoni with organic tomato sauce infused with basil and Taggiasca olives) and Freddo di lamponi, spuma soffice allo yogurt e cialda al cacao (Fresh raspberry dessert with fluffy yogurt mousse and a chocolate wafer) were all very delicious.

AMBIENCE & THE VIEW: We made the reservation for 20:00 in August, so we were lucky to be up on the rooftop terrace at sunset and see the city illuminate as it became darker. The view was stunning and very unique and it's the very first thing that we noticed. It was very surreal and romantic and we were in awe as were being seated at a table overlooking the Basilicas and the Florentine skyline. The vibe was lovely and classy, with gentle classical music in the background, gentle breeze in the air, floral/garden decor and other diners seated nearby on different levels. It should be mentioned that the pictures simply cannot do this restaurant any justice and this is a place which you must visit in person in order to...

So, picture this: the view was absolutely breathtaking, like the kind of view that makes you want to write cheesy poetry or do questionable dance moves. We eagerly went up to the bar, ready to indulge in some sunset magic while sipping on fancy cocktails. Well, turns out the only magic they had was making us disappear from their priority list.

We ordered ten drinks, thinking we'd be floating on a cloud of mixology mastery. But oh boy, were we wrong! Those drinks were so sub-par, they should've come with a "proceed with caution" sign. I mean, have you ever had an Old Fashioned that was more ice than actual spirit? It was like a cocktail version of the Titanic, sinking our hopes and dreams.

To add insult to injury, the server dropped off our lone drink (not passing them out like a magician) and then vanished into thin air. We sat there, twiddling our thumbs, growing a year older by the minute, and still no server in sight. We could have started a support group for lost patrons.

Now, here's the kicker. This place had the audacity to present itself as the crème de la crème of bars and charge us like they were selling unicorn tears. Well, sorry, but I've seen more magical experiences in a kid's birthday party with a clown making balloon animals.

So, take it from me, my friend: I do not recommend this place. There are far better spots to satisfy your cocktail cravings and keep your sanity intact. Trust me, you deserve a drink that doesn't leave you questioning your...

Atmosphere and location: Amazing location, probably one of the best into Firenze, beautiful design and comfortable seats, a little too hot temperature in my opinion, I was sweating (even before the wine). NOTE: Lights were a little too high for the dark views out the big windows, I would’ve appreciate a softer lighting, also a background classic music, which I believe was there but barely high enough to be heard with the full restaurant.

Service: Amazing service with a great care and attention to the client, very well trained and very knowledgeable employees. Congrats! NOTE: The restaurant is VERY fine dining, enough for the servers to know exactly what dish each person on the table needs to receive without asking. Tables should be cleaned from crumbs and such each course.

Food: High quality ingredients put together in a fabulous way, very well prepared dishes with a great combination of flavor and texture. Compliments to the chef/s!

OVERALL: Amazing and definitely recommended. Be aware of costs!! (High, but balanced) The guest service down in the main hall of the hotel and the Maitre/host of the restaurant should have a little better communication. Make a reservation at least a couple days in advance to be sure to have a table with the gorgeous view of the Cathedral.

FIVE STARS...

To celebrate our last night in Florence, we decided to splurge a little and had dinner at the Hotel Baglioni's rooftop restaurant. We were guests of the hotel so were given a 15% discount certificate which we happily used. Do make reservations. I cannot emphasize that more. A meal in Italy is an event and is never, nor should it be, rushed. This means there is really a low turnover rate for tables. So walking-in may be an exercise in futility. This is the same restaurant where we have our daily breakfast at the hotel. The daytime views were awesome but at night it was simply breathtaking. For dinner we had a few appetizers to share. For our main course, I had the duck which I thought was sublime. My companions shared the bisteca alla Fiorentina. The single order was huge so I got to taste it too. It was very tender and the beef flavors where enhanced by the sauce. They have a very expansive wine list. Dessert and cafe completed the meal and we spent the rest of the night marvelling at the views.

We had a great evening at B-Roof. The service was warm and attentive from the moment we arrived. The food menu is on the smaller side, but everything is thoughtfully chosen. We ordered the salami board and it was absolutely delicious, high-quality ingredients, beautifully presented. The atmosphere is elegant and stylish without being pretentious. It has a luxurious feel, but it's relaxed and welcoming at the same time, perfect for a special evening that still feels comfortable. The real highlight, though, is the view. We had a 7:30 PM reservation and were seated at a table facing the Duomo. Watching the sunset from up there was unforgettable. Florence glows in golden light as the sun goes down, and as night falls, the city lights up beautifully. For the experience it offers, great service, quality food, and an unbeatable view, t’s surprisingly well-priced. Definitely worth it. Highly recommended. Just make sure to book in advance if you want that sunset view!
