Julia La Chorrillana Centro — Restaurant in Florence

THE FOOD was okay, 6/10 got the arroz con chaufa de pollo. the rice was a bit mushy for my taste but enjoyed my inca cola nonetheless.

THE SERVICE; the gentleman in charge was kind and attentive but the server/host was just sitting playing video games while taking my order and just sitting without doing much and were waiting for his dad (maybe) to answer the phone.

i come from a family business but i just wished there would be more of a customer service rather than just staring at the wall.

I wanted to go to another Peruvian restaurant in my stay in Florence but found this by chance. I’d say the Jalea was amazingly good. The service was very kind but the toilet wasn’t working, and that would be the only reason to take one star away from the restaurant. I really cannot understand too much the other bad reviews, they almost made me not go to the restaurant but at the end I was more than happy I actually ended up going. Da tempo volevo provare questo locale ed oggi, assieme alla mia compagna, ho colto l'occasione. Il locale è piccolo, accogliente e variopinto, con murales ispirati alla cultura peruviana; pur essendo pieno, sono riusciti a trovare un tavolo per noi. Il cameriere, gentile e sorridente per tutto il servizio, ci ha fatto accomodare ed ha portato poi il menù e del mais tostato, accompagnato da salse, da sgranocchiare in attesa dei piatti ordinati. Abbiamo preso un Tamal, ripieno con farina di mais con maiale, ed il Trio Marino (per 2 persone), composto da Ceviche (pesce marinato con sale e succo di limone), Jalea (frittura di pesce e frutti di mare), Arroz con Mariscos (riso saltato con salsa di soia, uovo e frutti di mare) e Patate Dolci, Mais e Platano come contorno; i piatti sono tutti squisiti ed abbondanti, con materie prime di qualità. Per concludere abbiamo preso due dolci,Torta de Chocolate e Cheesecake de Maracuya, anche questi ottimi e sempre con generose porzioni. Come prima esperienza con la cucina peruviana non potevo chiedere di meglio, siamo usciti dal ristorante pienamente soddisfatti da cibo, servizio e soprattutto dal conto; rapporto qualità-quantità/prezzo molto alto.
