We booked this restaurant through the fork which included a 50% discount. It all started out well with the waiter being extremely friendly and taking our order. After about 20 minutes we received our starters which were not complete. Along with the starters some bread in a paper bag was offered. We ordered the one and only charcuterie board on the menu which was supposed to include dried meats, cheeses, bruschetta, and homemade sauces. All that came out were grocery store quality salamis and a tasteless prosciutto. When asked about the cheeses and other items the waiter said we ordered the wrong charcuterie. Mind you this was the only charcuterie on the menu. After 25 more minutes our cheeses, bruschetta, and sauces which turned out to be plain honey came. We waited 25 more minutes without receiving our pastas that we ordered at the same time as the starters. At this point we decided to get up and leave as we had not been updated by the waiting staff during these 25 minutes. Additionally we watched several tables that arrived and ordered after us receive not only their starters but main courses. We will not be back and would highly discourage anyone from going here. The food we did try was abysmal and the service even worse. And yes we left without paying after 90 minutes sitting and only receiving starters after watching multiple tables receive all their food despite arriving and...
Read moreWe visited Caffè Bonetti in Florence and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. After taking our order, the staff came back to inform us that they had run out of pork. They offered a beef dish instead, which later turned out to be the most expensive item on the menu — and possibly the worst. It was so tough and sinewy that it was difficult not only to chew but even to cut.
The other dishes weren't much better. For some reason, they added unripe tomatoes to the salad, and the so-called "Tuscan soup" was nothing more than a handful of mush. It's unclear why they would use the name of Tuscany for something so poor in quality.
Overall, a very disappointing meal with surprisingly low standards. Would not recommend. This is clearly a tourist-oriented place where food quality and customer experience don’t seem to matter much. The dishes were disappointing and lacked care. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic...
Read moreLovely service! The woman serving us was so sweet and gave great recommendations. Had the tortelloni with pear sauce, which was definitely a new dish for me and it was refreshing. The pears really helped cut through the creaminess of the cheese and the whole dish was balanced very nicely. The roast potatoes were delicious with fragrant olive oil. The Bellini was smooth, fruity, and tasty without being too sweet. I'm not usually a dessert person, but I would definitely recommend the tiramisu, very rich and smooth. The owner gave us complimentary shots of limoncello at the end of our dinner as well, which made an already great experience even better. Very elegant and tasteful decor inside, with air conditioning too! Would...
