⭐ 1 Star – I almost never leave negative reviews, but this was truly awful.

I usually stay quiet when I have nothing good to say — I’m not someone who writes negative reviews lightly. But after dining at Ristorante del Rossi, I feel compelled to share what was honestly one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had.

I ordered some simple side dishes — potatoes and a mix of grilled vegetables — and they never arrived. No apology, no explanation. What did arrive was a supposed 1.3 kg Florentine steak, which was overpriced and honestly poor quality compared to others I’ve had in Florence for much less. When the steak was brought out, the server informed me that it was actually 1.7 kg, and then told me, “Oh, that’s your discount — since your sides didn’t come. Your bill will be cheaper.” Seriously?

They didn’t have ice for my soda, and my wife’s orange slice was literally just a peel sitting in our appetizer spread. Every detail felt sloppy and careless.

Worse, no one checked on us during the entire meal — not once did a server ask how we were doing.

From beginning to end, it was disappointing, overpriced, and completely unprofessional. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. There are so many better options in Florence — with better food, better service, and actual respect for...

We were very lucky to have come by this place. My fiancé and I actually passed by the same restaurant closer to the river and it was already prime time dinner and seating filled. However, the manager (De Aldo) was very kind to recommend this one ~10 min walk, and even called ahead to inform of our arrival and offered a generous discount. In fact, we much preferred this location due to more secluded hidden location and less busy, service more attentive. And the service was great! The waiter took his time to explain all of the menu and wine options and was very patient. Now the food was simply amazing - pasta cooked at just the right aldente texture with nice rich and balanced sauce. We are very picky about our steaks and unfortunately find many places disappointing, but this T-bone steak set a new standard for us! Perfect medium rare with nice char and black salt. And finished with the panna cotta with truffle honey and salt which I must say, everything amazing, but this was the cherry on top!

Overall, absolutely amazing meal that was the highlight of our time...

If you’re on the hunt for the ultimate bistecca alla Fiorentina, look no further as you have found it. From the moment I took my first bite, I understood why this place is earning rave reviews. The Florentine steak here doesn’t just meet expectations, it exceeds them.

I ordered the Bistecca alla Fiorentina Chianina, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. A beautifully thick 3-inch cut arrived perfectly seared to a golden-brown crust, with a smoky char that gave way to incredibly tender, flavorful meat. It was elegantly finished with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of black Greek sea salt. Hands down, the best steak we had in Florence!

What truly sets this experience apart, though, is the service. The staff welcomes you with warmth and pride in what they do. Our server, Orgito, was a standout. He is gracious, knowledgeable, and attentive. He provided exceptional service that truly elevated our dining experience.
