We visited Trattoria Tiberio on recommendation from a local. Initially we were treated very well, the place was pretty busy and we had high hopes. There were two of us and we both ordered the steak with rocket and cheese and one portion of roast potatoes to share as per the waiter’s suggestion. We waited a long time for the food to arrive. Unfortunately, when it did there was only one steak with the portion of potatoes. We asked where the second steak was but neither of the waiters seemed to be clear what had happened. Eventually the waiter who initially took our order explained that the chef had made an error and asked us to share the steak until the second one was prepared. We were a bit taken aback but agreed, however, we had long finished the first steak before any sign of the second one arrived. Admittedly the food was very good. We also had cheesecake for dessert which was excellent but due to the dreadful service we still felt the meal as a whole was a bit disappointing. At any other establishment we would have expected a heartfelt apology with an offer of a drink on the house or a small discount from the bill but no, they in fact added a more expensive dish to the bill and when we commented on the poor service we were told that, “this is normal”. If that is the case, we shan’t be returning and would recommend that you spend your hard earned...
Read moreReading some of the negative opinions I can only say that reviewers need to learn what does it mean to respect and follow local traditions. If the place is going to feed its guests do not come here just for a drink, there are bars and coffee shops for this. I am really charmed with the atmosphere of the place. I received warm greeting and the fact that I asked for a place only for myself was not an issue. The food was delicious, traditional, local cuisine, freshly prepared with care and good taste. After good lunch I returned for dinner and again I was greeted with kindness a d delicious dishes. I was treated not as a client but truly as a guest. Also I am full of respect for the whole stuff of workers who had to cope with very picky and unfortunately unwell behaved tourists, who kept complaining on the problems that truly came from themselves. Waiters were always kind and patient. I promised myself to visit that place whenever I...
Read moreWe went for dinner with no reservation. There was nobody waiting to be seated (like in other nearby restaurants) but nevertheless, we were ok to wait for a table. One of the young kids tried to get us a table and asked the older woman at the entrance (the manager, I suppose?), but she just shook her head without even looking at us, with complete apathy and arrogance. Again, we were ok to wait or, if not possible, come back another day with a reservation… but I guess she just wasn’t interested in treating us properly.
I came here to read other bad reviews and not surprisingly, other people complained about this woman’s bad manners and the way she treats her customers. All good though, wish her all the best as we ended up in trattoria za za and had one of the best meals in Italy so far. I recommend everyone reading this to...
