Gelateria Artigianale Il Capriccio di Carla

We ran from a nearby museum because it started to drizzle, and ran into this gelateria because it started to HAIL! I couldn't understand why people were eating gelatto when it was relatively cold outside. I had a long sleeve, it wasn't very cold, but I always associated gelato or ice cream with warm or hot weather, definitely not hail.

I'm glad that the hail forced me to try. Looking back on our trip, gelatto is great, but this place is FANTASTIC. The long line we saw earlier in the day was completely explained and justified the moment that we tried it. The customer service is literally the best that I experience over trip to Italy. The girls that were working there that night were the sweetest I've spoken to. They were patient, offered samples, they were personable and patient to communicate. The gelato was delicious, beyond delicious. The girls recommended places to eat dinner or lunch the next day, and uncommon suggestions for places to see that usually don't make it to the top of a tourist's list.

My wife did some research on authentic gelateria’s and how you could tell if it was authentic or a mass producer. Insert il Capriccio Di Carla. While touring around Rome, we found this amazing place! We walked in and you were welcomed graciously. The server was educated extensively on how the gelato was made and which flavors paired well with each other. After ordering, we noticed very quickly that we had found a jewel. The gelato was fresh and had just the right amount of flavor. Not fake or over powering. Big note the cones were fresh too. Couldn’t of asked for a better experience.

So far on our trip of Italy this place still holds #1. Can’t wait to have more on...

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Gelateria Artigianale in Rome! Roberto, our friendly server, not only served us with a warm smile but also took the time to teach us some Italian phrases. His enthusiasm added an extra layer of sweetness to the ice cream experience.

His recommendations for ice cream combinations were also spot on! Gelateria Artigianale has a fantastic selection of flavors that cater to all tastes.
