I went there with a couple of friends and from the start it felt cozy, like really cozy, maybe too much but in a good way, walls had some stuff hanging I dont even remember exactly what but it gave a artsy vibe. Music was not loud, thank God, I hate when is boom boom and you cant talk. The food, yeah that was really the thing, I had pasta with seafood and it was fresh, like you feel the sea still on it haha, sauce was light but somehow full of taste, dont know how they did that. One friend had meat, looked simple but when I tried a bite it was tender and juicy. Service also nice, the waiter with a blue shirt I think, explained something and suggested wine, actually matched good, I was surprised. Not cheap, I mean for center what do you expect, but didn’t feel robbed. I would prob go again, maybe evening time, saw plates going to other tables and they looked wow, like really wow, I keep thinking about them.
The place gave me a warm feeling, a bit strange cause sometimes I felt like I was in someone’s living room not a restaurant, but I liked it. The food again, sorry I repeat, but pasta seafood was on point, not heavy, not boring, just right. My friend’s meat dish I keep remembering too, juicy juicy. Prices yeah a bit high, but ok, not too much, at least you leave full. Service was fine, they cared, you can see in the way he was talking, even if he seemed a bit rushed. I wanna come back, for sure, cause some dishes passing around looked tempting, I regret I...
Read moreWe came here because they had a 4.8 star, we left because it was a 2 star at best.
I believe many of these follies could have been remedied if they put salt and pepper out on the table, or found time to ask you how your food is before it is stone cold and the window to fix said issues has closed tight.
The potato and basil flan was a hot mush moulded into a small disk. It was unseasoned and unappetizing (I’m afraid this is a theme). His soft boiled egg in a pea puree was done to perfection, unfortunately with the pea puree under seasoned as well, it wasn’t great. A side of roasted veggies was seasoned apparently, but it took 4 slices to find one. The carbonara flavours were incredible, but it would have been nice if the chef took their time and added pasta water to thin it out to a normal consistency.
To be fair, they had a huge reservation that came in just after us. Making eye contact with these folks would be difficult over their new table of 30 or more. As well, the servers seemed nice. What they didn’t do however was to understand that their lack of attention contributed to the subpar meal that we still needed to pay for.
We had no issues paying for our meal, but we could not leave coming back to this establishment to chance, when Italy has about a 1000 restaurants competing for our...
Read moreI rarely write reviews but I would recommend this place every day of the week :) The location is great (right next to the opera theatre, 10 mins walk to Roma Termini station, and about 20 mins walk from the “main” touristic places in Rome) situated at the rooftop of a lovely hotel, you will love the garden vibes but the inner Saloon is also very cosy. The menu is just magical, we went there 3 times and tried different things each time - there were no “hit and miss” dishes. Everything is prepared with love and great attention to the little detail, which pleases the senses. If it is still on the menu you must try the tartar and the croaker fish carpaccio from the appetisers, tuna tataki from the main. Trust me, don’t skip the dessert and do yourself a favour trying the namelaka -you will dream about it later. And now special shout out to the staff, they made our experience complete. They all are positively charged, their energy is contagious. You can tell that they love what they do and this means a million. Thank you, thank you a million Ilaria, Valentina, Danken, Veronica, Giullano, Elvi, Giorgio,...
