My Uncle and I visited Rome for the first time in May 2025 after completing our cruise holiday from Barcelona to Rome. After confirming my booking at this hotel several months prior to our arrival, I had requested this hotel to help me make transportation arrangements from the cruise port at Civitavecchia to the hotel. ||IMPORTANT NOTE: The cruise port at Civitavecchia is located 45km from the city of Rome. There are very few taxis and Uber vehicles want to go out there to pick up passengers. You definitely should make private transportation arrangements to pick you up from Civitavecchia and bring you to your hotel in Rome. Some of our fellow cruise passengers who didn't make any private arrangements were left stranded in no-man's land for a whole day because the Ubers that they tried to book kept cancelling on them! The Hotel Artemide team were right on it and they made the necessary arrangements for us. Our private transport picked us up from Civitavecchia and brought us to the hotel on time and the driver was very courteous.||Check-in was quick, we had arrived at 11am and our room was only available at 2pm. So we asked the hotel staff to store our luggage and we walked around the city of Rome to explore a couple of famous attractions. When we returned to the hotel after 2pm, we received our room keys. Our room was a very spacious twin-bed room with a walk-in shower and bidet. This hotel offers a complimentary mini bar fully stocked with drinking water, fruit juices, 2 bottles of local beer and a small bottle of champagne, plus a bunch of snacks(biscuits & nuts), and all of these are replenished daily without any extra charge! This service and amenity puts all those international 5-star hotel chains around the world to shame!!! All in-house guests are also given a 1-time complimentary voucher to enjoy a 2-hour session in the Artemis Spa in the basement of this hotel as well as 1-time complimentary drinks at happy hour in the Ambrosia Restaurant & Bar, the rooftop restaurant and bar of this hotel.||I must also mention that prior to my arrival in Rome, I asked the hotel for permission if I could order some health supplements online from Herbalife and have the products delivered to the hotel, and have them store my items for me until I arrive in Rome. They said 'No Problem', and so I did! My items arrived 10 days before my arrival in Rome and they kept the parcel in their store room for me. On the day I arrived and checked into the hotel, they courteously handed me the parcel. This is the BEST SERVICE that I have ever received from any hotel around the world!!!||Sebastian at the front desk gave me a walking map of Rome City and answered all my questions regarding the locations of the various tourist attractions that we had planned to visit during our stay. He also gave me recommendations and suggestions on places to eat and transportation advice to a couple of places that are located far away from the city centre, like St. Paul's Basilica Outside the Walls, which is one of the 4 major Papal Basilicas with a Holy Door. 2025 is a Jubilee year.||The buffet breakfast is included in the room rates of this hotel if you book your room directly with them. This hotel's buffet breakfast has the MOST AMAZING pastry and baked goods selection of all the hotels that I have stayed at around the world!!! Pies, tarts, cakes, doughnuts, croissants, tiramisu and much more, all for breakfast!!!!! We didn't need to eat lunch after this buffet breakfast! They serve made-to-order hot food items like omelettes, crepes, waffles, etc. You can also have unlimited lattes, cappuccinos, espressos, etc. 5-star hotel chains should hide their faces in shame after seeing the buffet breakfast offering here!||This hotel is centrally located in the heart of Rome. We walked to many of the major tourist attractions like the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Galleria Borghese, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, the Vittoriano Monument, Piazza Del Popolo, etc. We took a taxi to the Vatican City on the day of our guided tour but we walked back to the hotel after the guided tour ended. Walking to the Vatican will take around 1 hour. We also visited the 4 major Papal Basilicas and walked through the 4 Holy Doors. We walked to the Basilica Santa Maria Magiorre(where Pope Francis was laid to rest) and to the Basilica Santa Giovanni Laterano. We took a taxi to Saint Paul's Basilica Outside the Walls because it is too far away to walk there.||All in all, we had a marvelous experience staying here and if we return to the Eternal City, we will absolutely stay here again! Highly...
Read moreThis is one of the most impressive hotels I have ever stayed in (the other is Spadai from Florence). If you are looking for a hotel where you feel like you are the most important guest, this is it!
The hotel is excellently located, close to shops and historical sights. The room was spacious, tastefully arranged and the bed was comfortable (with 2 types of pillows for every taste). The disadvantage of the rooms facing the street is that you can hear the noise from outside, but the view is superb. We didn't have a problem with this, but there were people who asked at the reception to be moved and they were very nice to ask us too if we wanted this (we refused). The bathroom is large, has everything you need and if someone forgets their toothbrush, toothpaste or comb at home, all you have to do is ask at the reception. The drinks and snacks from the minibar were free and stocked every day. We went at the spa too and got a couple massage (it was wonderful and relaxing).
But the gem of this hotel is the hotel staff. My husband and I met Alessandro ( food and beverage manager) at the Spadai Hotel in Florence (1 year ago). He was in charge of breakfast. We were very impressed by his attention to details: the food should be fresh and hot and if something didn't look right it was replaced quickly, from the first day he remembered what we liked to drink (favorite coffee, juice, water), he constantly came back to see if everything is okay or if he can help us with something. When we left, we congratulated him on the way the breakfast was conducted and he impressed us with the modesty he showed. He praised his team more than himself. Since then we have planned to return to Spadai/Florence. A few months ago, my husband saw that Alessandro is the new food and beverage manager of the Artemide Hotel. Then we decided that it was time to revisit Rome. What I can say is that the same atmosphere from Spadai is also at the Artemide hotel. The staff is very attentive to details, conveys a feeling of well-being and you start your morning with a smile. I noticed that they put passion into what they do and this made me appreciate the small gestures even more (the bruschettas served individually, the warm pancakes made on the spot, the coffee served with a sincere smile).
At the Ambrosia rooftop restaurant we spent a wonderful evening. We met Micaela, Lacra, Sabrina and Maurizio (I hope I didn't misspell a name) who pampered us all evening. Alessandro was there too, taking care of everyone. We hardly left there, after saying goodbye 3 times, hugs and promising to see each other again....
Read moreLet me start this review by saying one thing. Everything in Rome is overpriced.
We are all paying a “historical tax” by even being in Rome. The Italians are taxing tourists heavy to be here.
So it goes without saying that anything in the center of Rome is going to be more expensive than you would expect. Especially when you compare it to traveling a little bit outside of the center.
This needs to be said because when you look at the prices for this hotel, you might expect something really crazy. Some kind of amazing view or something really fancy inside.
But in my opinion, that’s not what this place is and it’s not what they do well.
What do they do well are the things that you take for granted in every other hotel that looks super luxurious or aesthetically pleasing.
Comfortable beds. I have never slept better in my entire life than in this hotel the beds and the pillows are really really comfortable. So much so that I honestly thought about stealing the pillow I was sleeping on.
Quiet rooms. The walls have thick insulation. Again, that’s something you really ever think about until you hear your neighbors kids screaming in the room next-door. Or the couple deciding to have some fun into the early morning. You will not hear them here.
Cheap spa access. They have their own spa. And if you stay at the hotel, they charge you $15 to use it. It is 100% worth it. You can have access to the sauna, steam room, exercise room, and Jacuzzi. It will help you recover from walking 10 to 30,000 steps around Rome. (Just make the jacuzzi hotter please, its not hot enough).
Friendly and helpful staff. If it’s raining outside and you need an umbrella, they got you. If you need anything with your room, they are there for it. They are super quick and very friendly. Again, not something you think about until you deal with a really rude receptionist at a different hotel.
Cleanliness. Every hotel in theory should be clean. But this hotel is impeccably clean. The cleaning staff is amazing. I tipped them every single night I was there because I was so impressed at the job they were doing. And again super friendly.
Location. This might not have a lot to do with the hotel but the area this is in is very central to get you around pretty much anywhere. I would not want to stay deep into the center. It’s just too touristy. I thought to stay in Trastavere until I actually walked around there and saw how busy it was. Again, if that’s your thing go for it. I would rather hang out in those places than stay there.
Overall, this is a great hotel and I would...
