Looked for a place close to our hotel for a nice dinner and we liked the way this place looked on Google map, so we went in. The place looks small, but when we asked to sit inside (we needed the AC) we found out that the restaurant has another floor beneath and it is full of tables. The restaurant looks like an old trattoria that is run by a family, with many pictures on the wall of celebrities that ate there through the years. The picture next to our table showed Monica Belliucci, which is one of my favorite actresses. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to the pasta. We got an amatriciana and a carbonara. Both were very good!! Cooked perfectly and even though the guancialle was a little too salty, it gave the dish the right amount of salt it needed. We couldn't just have a pasta, so we got some meat as well. A classic steak and a a roasted rabbit. The steak was perfect! Good sear on the outside and nice and tender on the inside. The rabbit was amazing!! It's been a while since I had a rabbit, and this one delivered on my expectations. It was tender and flavorful, and it was cooked in a tangy sauce that complimented the rabbit perfectly!! Definitely a great dish, and one that you don't find in most places, so you should definitely try it here. We also got a side of roasted vegetables to accompany the meats. We got eggplant, radicchio, and zucchini, all lightly roasted with olive oil and salt. Perfect match for the meat. Add two glasses of wine, and we had a great meal. But I needed something sweet. And the answer was chocolate profiteroles. A little smaller than what I'm used to, but great!! Excellent chocolate sauce in top, and nice creamy interior. A perfect ending to a...

After a long day of travel from Northern Italy to Rome, I wasn’t exactly in the mood to venture far for dinner. A quick search led me to Antica Bohéme, conveniently located just a block from my hotel. I wandered over, and to my relief, was seated immediately inside where the air conditioning was a welcome break from the Roman heat.
From the start, the service stood out. My server was warm, attentive, and even gave me a playful hard time for ordering a Coke instead of a glass of wine — but after a day of planes and trains, sometimes you just need a little sugar!
I started with the bruschetta, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful — a great way to whet the appetite. Then came the Tonnarelli alla Tricia con carciofi (a twist on the Roman classic amatriciana with artichokes), and it was nothing short of outstanding. Rich, hearty, and perfectly balanced, it quickly became one of the standout dishes of my trip.
Both dishes were generous in portion, and to my surprise, the prices were more than reasonable — especially for the quality. In fact, after a week of eating my way through Italy, this may have been the best meal I’ve had — and certainly the most affordable.
If you’re staying nearby or even just passing through the area, I highly recommend making a stop at Antica Bohéme. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why food in Rome is so beloved: simple, honest, and...
Read moreMy partner and I have not stopped talking about Antica Bohéme since we dined there last week. Just a stone throw away from our hotel, we went for fatigue-born convenience but instead found a classic and delicious Roman experience. The outside seating was quaint and glowing, and the gentlemen servers were always around to help. I ordered spaghetti, aglio, olio, e peperoncino. How can a dish with only a few ingredients be so enthralling? The quality and savory flavor of the olive oil only brought out the best in the garlic and peppers. The pasta isn’t spicy, but it has a kick that some Roman cuisine can’t manage. It’s perfect for those who like strong flavors but simple ingredients. Next I tried my partner’s penne allá arrabiata, which was equally exquisite. Just like the spaghetti, it had a vibrant spiced flavor without being too much. After looking into it, this dish is almost the spaghetti with the addition of tomato. They tasted different but had the same vibe, and they are the best pastas we have had to this day. The food along with the cozy atmosphere makes this restaurant a perfect spot for a date and a traditional Roman...
