Scurreria Beer & Bagel — Restaurant in Genoa

Decent beer selection, but unfortunately unwelcoming, unfriendly, unprofessional staff. After getting in and checking the cool beers in the fridge the bartender girl insisted that I tell where I want to sit. Having no idea (was busy checking what they have to offer), went to a table and kept checking beer list online. Soon she stopped by and stared at me, while I still obviously didn't know which beer I want. After telling I need some more time, she left and never came back... Ordering at the bar was luckily possible. The place was mostly empty so I sat by the bar which also is kind of extended to a 4 seat table. At some point the tattoed guy/employee (not sure what his role was, apparently he didn't seem to do much) started to loudly count from 1-4 pointing at the four seats of the "table" I was sitting at. No idea what he meant... I had two more beers after that, every time I had to walk up to the guy working in the bar (2-3 meters from where I sat). Finally, at paying they the bartender almost managed to rip me off, "accidentally" charging a large beer instead of a small one. After I pointing out the mistake he apologized and "corrected" the price which was still slightly above the actual, correct price. Textbook...

Quite simply, the best beer in town. As a Brit I've been in Genova a few months, and no place rivals it for selection of ales...and I mean ALES!. On a Friday and Saturday night it's busy with the food and ale flowing, decent music too. There is a 40 odd-inch screen for sport, but it does not take over and is not centre stage...which is for the best.

I've not actually eaten here, but you'll understand when I say it's "pub grub" huge looking burgers mind out! Staff friendly and informative too. Not usually open until 5or6pm weekdays so just bear that in mind. Lucky for me, this is my local.

Friendly spot with great selection of beers. Beer menu had around 15 choices, but was told other beers may come and go during the day as they are finished. Table service, so just sit, choose, and enjoy your tasty beers! Small plates of nibbles are served with the beer (no extra charge), so you get some crisps, salami, crispy flatbread etc to enjoy with your beer. Good english spoken, and helpful advice on beer choices available. I believe they also do burgers, but in early evening, everyone there was just enjoying the beer at aperetivo hour....
