Rude service. Highly selective understanding of English to avoid resolving a completely avoidable issue. Waiter repeatedly tried to up sell the wine under the guise it was just a larger bottle (when in fact it was simply a different and more expensive bottle). I had to repeat my choice several times before he stopped. I ordered the fish ravioli with a pesto sauce. Before making the selection I asked for a more detailed explanation of the dish and I was informed the ravioli had a sea bass filing. When the dish arrived, the ravioli was cover with various shell fish and a shell fish sauce. I explained that I didn’t eat shellfish (crustaceans) and I wouldn’t have ordered the dish if I had known. Additionally, my partner is highly allergic to shellfish and it simply wasn’t acceptable to eat any of it while she was present. The dish was replaced with just one containing pesto and plain pasta. The manager presented the full bill and they hoped we’d pay the full original amount. When I disputed it, the manager just repeated “Speak Italiano” rather than listening or have either of her English-speaking staff to assist in translation. Coeliac heaven! They have a seperate gluten free 'senza glutine' menu with lots of choice. I asked for gluten free bread when they brought out gluten bread for my family and they happily provided a soft white roll. For my main, I went for the Pansotti with Walnut Sauce because I am vegetarian, and it was mind-blowing! I have never had gluten free ravioli so it was an absolute treat to experience this! The walnut sauce was so delicious, a cheesy, nutty, creamy flavour and the pasta tasted amazing with a great texture. The portion size was generous - I was full but I couldn't leave with ordering a gluten free dessert haha! There were about 5 different gluten free dessert options, including gluten free tiramisu! Ho scelto questo luogo per una cena a quattro perchè uno dei miei commensali ha problemi di intolleranza al glutine e sul portale del ristorante lo stesso risulta piuttosto specializzato su questo tema. Ho quindi telefonato la signora titolare mi ha confermato che per celiaci il menù prevedeva gluten free dall'antipasto al dolce. L'esperienza tuttavia non è stata esaltante, nel senso che non ci ritornerei ne per la qualità delle preparazioni ne per il servizio e ne tantomeno per il menù dedicato ai celiaci. Non voglio dire che ho mangiato malissimo ma certamente si può fare molto di più. Personalmente ho ordinato polpo rosticciato su letto di patate e maggiorana che era gradevole e di primo streppe al pesto. Le streppe in se stesse erano interessanti ma il pesto a mio parere decisamente di bassa qualità per sapore, colore e consistenza e mi auguro che fosse di fattura industriale (molto simile al Novella) altrimenti il cuoco dovrebbe cambiare regione o professione. Anche i pinoli interi messi in cima alla pasta a mò di guarnizione al piatto non erano di qualità, sembravano infatti quelli cinesi, più piccoli più ovali molto meno costosi e con sapore decisamente inferiori ai nostri tipo pisani . Anche gli altri commensali non sono stati soddisfatti è mi è dispiaciuto perchè non erano di Genova e io ho scelto il posto. Sul discorso celiachia ad esempio il fritto con la "panissa" che è notoriamente farina di ceci non è ricompresa nel menù dedicato in quanto non esiste una friggitrrice dedicata. La cosa mi è sembrata singolare per un locale che si fregia di questa preparazioni gluten-free. Il servizio poi decisamente scarso poco empatico impreparato incapace di consigliare le caratteristiche di un vino o di un piatto (prendere l'ordine e portare per il resto "torta di riso finita") Infine avevo scelto come dolce "cantucci con Passito" e dopo una discreta attesa mi è stato detto che il Passito era finito e che comunque non sarebbe stato Passito ma Malvasia.....ok, il menù lo avete scritto voi! Il prezzo per 4 antipasti 4 primi un dolce un vino da 18 acqua e 3 caffe 146 euro....
