Central Pub — Restaurant in Matera

After hiking in the Parco della Murgia during the day, my partner and I were rather hungry and decided to grab dinner at the Central Pub for some burgers and drinks. The food was just what we needed, comforting and filling with an upscale Italian twist. As a vegetarian, I got the Casarano burger and we shared some crisper French fries. My partner got the Rio. Don’t skip on the fries, they’re excellent. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to finish the burger because of the size (and eating too many fries), but the Casarano had a good balance of tomatoes, ground pistachios, Stracciatella cheese, and burger that didn’t feel heavy. The drink selection was quite large, so we had a variety of beers during the meal and then ended the night with some limoncello. The service was quick and the staff friendly. We sat in the unique outdoor seating area, which was lovely extended staircase. There’s also a bar and a ton of space inside. This is the perfect place to stop for a relaxing dinner...

Very nice pub with excellent service. We just had drinks there. The choice of beer and cocktails is quite big. The cocktails were mixed very good and the prices for them are fair. Found this lovely little bar on a back st in matera. We were welcomed in by the friendly staff and we stayed for an hour and enjoyed some delicious cold beer. We had some great conversations with a few locals even with the language barrier we still managed to have plenty of laughs....great bar and...
