Ristorante Spaghetteria Miseria e Nobiltà Matera — Restaurant in Matera

If I could give 10 stars to this restaurant, I would. I had the best pasta of our Italy trip yet. Was looking for vegetarian options in Matera and found this gem of a restaurant. Although there aren't many vegetarian or vegan options on the menu, the waitress told us that we can get most of the dishes on the menu converted to vegetarian or vegan. She even recommended us a couple a dishes which we took (see pictures). Food tasted delicious. It is what one would expect in Italy, and it is what you get in Matera. The desserts looked wonderful too (but we couldn't oder any as we were in a rush).

The staff is very friendly, the chef (who is also very friendly and charming) does the magic with his cooking in an open kitchen. Maybe you can get a table near the kitchen to witness your food being prepared live. The restaurant itself is located in a convenient location and has a very good ambience. Highly recommend...

Capitati per caso di passaggio a Matera e ci siamo fermati nel locale vicino a dove abbiamo parcheggiato. Abbiamo aspettato circa mezz'ora per avere un tavolo in quanto il locale era pieno visto che erno le due circa e soprattutto senza prenotazione, appena seduti siamo stati accolti dai ragazzi che servivano ai tavoli che sono stati cordiali e gentili, abbiamo ordinato e con molto piacere siamo stati serviti molto velocemente, abbiamo ordinato un primo e senza chiedere niente ci è stata servirà una porzione più che abbondante e i ragazzi ci hanno lasciato i piatti per poter mangiare in 2, spaghetti con cottura al dente il che ci ha reso più che soddisfatti e con grande piacere il piatto servito non era troppo carico di condimento e neanche salato, il che ci ha potuto permettere di guastare in pieno tutti i sapori e ben distinti, abbiamo proseguito con una frittura di paranza ed una tagliata di tonno ai pistacchi, ottimo pesce che poi io ho gustato ancora di più con una PICCOLA aggiunta di peperoncino, più che contenti anche dei secondi e concluso con 2 dolci che abbiamo fatto fatica a finire viste le generose porzioni. Al momento del conto ho potuto scambiare anche 2 parole con il proprietario che ho trovato una persona a modo e disponibile anche a scambiare idee ed opininioni vista l'ora che avevamo fatto ed eravamo praticamente rimasti solo noi ad andare via. Derei che siamo rimasti più che soddisfatti della nostra scelta di fermarci ed aspettare anche la mezz'ora per un tavolo e di sicuro non appena possibile ci ritorneremo anche perché parlando con il ragazzo che serviva al tavolo mi ha detto di avere del peperoncino più piccante di quello che mi aveva lasciato e quindi devo assolutamente provarlo. Ristorante per noi più che consigliato, buona scelta nel menù, buona materia prima servita, primi cucinati a vista direttamente dal proprietario e...

Amazing - so much better than other restaurants!

We ate shrimp pasta and spaghetti carbonara. All „first dishes” are spaghetti pasta. The prices 10-15€ for spaghetti. Its a decent lunch, but not enough to get full. You might get some appetizer and dessert if you want to get full. Or buy a focaccia in a bakery for 1.20€ nearby.

The foundee with pistachio was good, hot, with a lot of chocolate. Wine also good.

Ive never eaten better pasta, but ive never been to Italy as well haha!

Good, and fairly cheap place - for Matera at least! You wont find cheaper food, if you want a restaurant, and not a fast...
