service were extremely bad, staffs saw me walking in, they ignored and continue chitchatting. Both myself and the table next to me are visitors, we both have to asked for a plate and the olive oil for the bread multiple times, it came 10mins later, i haven’tu get to enjoy and bread, my main arrives. not to forget, just to order, I have to wait for a good 10mins too. this place full of mosquitoes outdoor, they did nothing about it. the manager rather chitchat with strangers, also don’t want to take my order. food was good but the customer service and ambience just wasn’t.

To reply to the responses from the restaurant: First of all, there wasn't any "kindly offered", I paid extra 5euro for the oil and 3euro for the bread. both the manager and the staff who served my table showed face when I asked for the olive oil, and you guys just drop the bottle of oil without giving me any plates or saucer, when the other table with full of italian locals, they only need to ask once and the plates was served together with the oil without a need to ask.

You guys are 5 stars restaurant, you dont need a customer to teach you how to serve a plate for the olive oil for the bread that costs 8euro in total.

It is all because the work attitude are so bad, you don't care when a customer walking in to the restaurant and continue chitchatting, serving the oil for the bread only asking after 3 times until the table next to me told me: "we asked for 2 times also, nobody get back to us, the table full of locals only asked once and they received it immediately."

I understand sometimes when its crowded, service can be slow, and i understand people do make mistake, but they're clearly not mistakes, it was the bad work attitude, you guys did it on purpose, hence i know i have to give it a two stars as I do not wish another foreign customers who are on holiday experience what I have experienced and ruin their...

Al Cantinone – A Delight Near the Duomo!

If you’re exploring Milan’s iconic shopping district near the Duomo and craving a great meal, Al Cantinone is an ideal spot to indulge in some classic Italian flavors. The location is fantastic—just steps away from all the hustle and bustle, making it convenient for a satisfying break.

Ambiance & Service The ambiance is charming, offering a cozy yet lively atmosphere. The service here is attentive and friendly, with the staff making you feel right at home. It’s the kind of place where you’re encouraged to linger and enjoy each bite without feeling rushed.

Food Highlights Lasagna – A hearty slice of lasagna that feels like comfort on a plate. The layers are rich, with a generous portion of meat and cheese. Perfectly browned on top, it’s a great choice for those wanting a traditional Italian experience. Cotoletta alla Milanese – This was a standout! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it’s well-seasoned and pairs beautifully with the roasted potatoes on the side. A must-try if you’re after authentic Milanese flavors. Spaghetti with Cherry Tomatoes and Mozzarella – A lighter, refreshing option for pasta lovers. The cherry tomatoes bring a burst of sweetness, balanced by creamy mozzarella and fresh basil. Ideal if you want something tasty without being overly filling. Dessert – The Crème brûlée was a lovely way to end the meal. The caramelized top was perfectly done, adding just the right amount of sweetness.

Tips Make sure to call ahead for a reservation, especially during peak times, as this spot tends to fill up quickly. It’s a popular choice for both locals and...

On a recent trip to Milan we were looking for a restaurant easy walking distance from the duomo that had typical Milanese cuisine. This restaurant checked those boxes and the reviews that we scanned looked good. In reality this was the WORST reataurant experience I have ever had and strongly recommend not visiting this establishment if you are a tourist….tourists do not seem to be welcome! From the time we entered the restaurant we were treated with disdain and if the service was bad but the food had been good I could have overlooked the treatment. I can understand acting like prima donnas if you are that good…but they aren’t! I have owned a reataurant so this review is not just someone ranting, I actually know a bit about food and service. 5 pieces of bread were provided (as part of the cover charge) for 5 people. The bread was not fresh. I had to ask for olive oil and balsamic for the bread and it was as if I was asking for gold. We all had the misfortune of ordering the veal milanese and risotto milanese, because when in Milan order Milanese, right? Wrong! The veal was tough and had little flavor. The risotto was beyond al dente and totally tasteless. I never add salt and pepper to my food at the table as I expect the chef has properly seasoned the dish. At this reataurant I asked for Parmesan, which met with a death stare, and pepper….but even that could not save the risotto. The only dish that I would rate highly was the prosciutto melon appetizer…the portion was very generous and the melon was tasty and the prosciutto was very good. Overall this was one of our most expensive meals in Italy and it was totally...

The risotto alla milanese was not bad so was the côtelette. However, the staff was incredibly rude… The restaurant was basically empty and they refused to seat us at the table we requested claiming that “they might need it later for other guests” whatever that’s supposed to mean. We asked for a white sauce pasta and we got dry overcooked pasta with literally 0 sauce (they said that’s white pasta?¿). When I asked for side plates (to share food) the waiter asked why and he said our food is on it’s way so we don’t need other plates. Truly surprised by the staff’s training- they seemed like they were all in training as a matter of fact. In response to the Owner’s answer to my review, I must specify that the table we requested was not that of 10 but of 4 people and that the restaurant was in fact not busy. I must also add that the waiter specified that the tagliatelle was with sauce “bianca”. When we asked the other waiter, she said it was not possible to bring us alfredo or cream for the dry overcooked pasta which had 3 pieces of shrimp. I am able to get over this but not able to get over the way we were treated — very badly and with a condescending attitude, not welcoming AT ALL. Too bad because I liked the risotto, but you can find the same anywhere else in Milan - maybe even better and with people that actually care about serving you and providing a memorable experience.

Not a good experience here. I ordered a risotto with blue cheese but it was too salty to eat (Idk if it’s supposed to be like that). I was asking for a change or anything they can do, but the boss came and told me to order another one, then they took the risotto away. I thought they agreed to change another one for me with less salt, but when I paid the bill, I saw both dishes were listed on it. The boss claimed it’s not their fault and said they will not change the flavor for me, I can only like it or get used to it. It’s so rude and offensive that he sounds like it’s the problem of my taste, instead of making adjustment for the customer. This is what he said 50%percent discount for first dish? I was really shocked by what you responded, I don't know how you can say these words. you told me this is too salty because of the blue cheese, if without the blue cheese, it would not be so salty, but now you say that I don't like the taste ? I'm just being objective about the saltiness I've tasted. I'm just objectively expressing my feelings here, not trying to judge anything. Your respond is trying to mislead the truth
