This place is one of the worst tourist traps i’ve seen in a long time! I am unsure if this is a result of the horrifying service we received or perhaps the food itself! Right at the start of the lunch we received our complimentary bread with hair inside - probably should’ve been our first red flag for this place! The waitress reacted as if this was a common occurrence. Afterwards we received our Caesar salad along with the pizza we ordered. It’s clear to say that dishes other than pizza are not the restaurants strength. Furthermore, the pizza was in fact the only edible dish on the table, as the chicken in our Caesar salad tasted old and as if gone bad. We set the chicken aside and complained to our waiter after which we got the ‘that’s how we do it in Italy, we serve the chicken cold’. After few minutes we established he misheard what we said and instead of ‘old’ he heard ‘cold’. It’s human to make mistakes and mishear, but it’s absolutely not okay to say that there isn’t anything there can be done about it now that we’ve finished our meal (again, none of the chicken was eaten). I would personally have not been able to consume any other chicken afterwards in the event of us sending the salad back in the kitchen. The only reasonable thing to do in such situation is admit to the bad situation and take it off the bill. However, our waiters said that ‘yes, we might have served you an old chicken but there is nothing we can do about it now’. We got offered two complementary shots of limoncello but not the €18 salad being taken off our bill. We kindly refused, paid and left with a bitter leftover taste from this experience. Cherry on top was when one of waitresses chased us down almost a kilometre only to bring us back in the restaurant without explaining the problem to us. We had accidentally left 50p instead of 50c, but the customer service made us feel like we’re some kind of thieves! It is not normal to act so disrespectful to a paying customer especially after we kept the respectful tone after all the ‘incidents’ on their side. We briefly left them the correct currency and left absolutely mortified of this place. The next day a local restaurant told us we indeed feel into a tourist trap after mentioning the restaurant’s name. We absolutely do...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at Sorbillo in Milan, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The standout dish for me was their Pizza Diavola, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best I've ever tasted. The balance of flavors in this spicy pizza was spot on, and it left me wanting more.
Let's talk about the mozzarella on the Pizza Diavola - it was simply perfect. Creamy, gooey, and with just the right amount of stretchiness, the mozzarella was a crucial element that enhanced the overall taste of the pizza. It melted beautifully over the San Marzano tomato sauce, creating a harmonious combination of tanginess and creaminess.
The toppings were equally delightful. The spicy salami provided a punch of heat that was well-balanced with the richness of the mozzarella. The flavor was intense but not overwhelming, making it an ideal choice for those who appreciate a bit of spice without it overshadowing the other ingredients.
The pizza crust was thin and perfectly crispy on the edges, offering a satisfying crunch with each bite. The dough had a wonderful chewiness that added to the overall texture of the pizza. It served as a delightful canvas for the flavorful toppings, allowing them to shine.
Aside from the delicious food, I must commend the exceptional service we received. The staff at Sorbillo was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their menu. Their warmth and hospitality made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, Sorbillo in Milan truly impressed me with their Pizza Diavola and overall dining experience. The outstanding mozzarella, balanced flavors, and excellent service make it a place worth revisiting. Whether you're a pizza connoisseur or simply someone who appreciates good food and hospitality, Sorbillo is a must-visit pizzeria in Milan. I can't wait to go back and try more of their delectable...
Read moreDuring our recent trip to Milan from Jordan, we had the pleasure of dining at Casa Sorbillo Duomo, and it was an experience to remember. As a group of two couples, we were looking forward to tasting authentic Italian cuisine, and Casa Sorbillo Duomo exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we walked in, the ambiance made us feel right at home. As a Muslim, my dietary choices are limited, especially when it comes to avoiding pork. Despite this, I found that the menu offered a delightful selection. I opted for the four cheese pizza, which turned out to be one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the cheese melted in my mouth with every bite.
In addition to the pizza, I tried a unique pasta dish made with potato and a rich red sauce. Although I don't recall the name, the taste was so remarkable that it still lingers in my memory. The pasta was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was savory and comforting.
One suggestion I would make is for the restaurant to expand its menu to include more options for those who don't eat pork, as even the chicken pizza contained pork. However, the quality and taste of the dishes I tried more than made up for the limited choices.
Overall, Casa Sorbillo Duomo is a must-visit for anyone in Milan looking for exceptional pizza and pasta. The culinary craftsmanship and welcoming atmosphere make it a standout dining experience. We left the restaurant with satisfied palates and fond memories of an...
