Al Conte Ugolino da Marino — Restaurant in Milan

Our visit to this restaurant was unfortunately underwhelming. After being seated, we waited a noticeably long time before anyone took our order while the table next to us, seated later, received their water and bread promptly. We were eventually served water, but the bread didn’t arrive until our mains did, and we never received the focaccia that was brought to other tables.

The food itself was average my wife’s dish was more enjoyable than mine but overall, it felt overpriced given the inattentive service and lack of hospitality. The staff appeared rushed and disengaged, and we genuinely felt overlooked. When it came time to pay, a tip had already been added to the bill without discussion, which felt inappropriate considering the experience.

The restroom facilities were also disappointing, with a broken toilet and a poorly functioning sink details that further reflected a lack of care. What stood out most, however, was the subtle but clear preference shown to other customers who appeared more affluent they were attended to and checked out before us, despite arriving later. It left a sour taste.

This was, regrettably, the worst service we experienced during our time in Italy. With so many wonderful dining options in Milan, this is one we would not return to—and...

I would strongly advise you to watch out on ur items at this restaurant! We were having dinner yesterday night at this restaurant and suddenly one of our friends noticed that her bag was stolen! Definitely, it was someone from their team ! After being robbed, we immediately notified the staff and management of what had happened and asked for their help. However, they showed no concern or urgency and made no effort to assist us in any way. She left feeling helpless and frustrated, with no choice but to handle the situation on her own. We asked for cameras, and they said we don't have ! The lack of support and care from the restaurant staff was utterly unacceptable, and it is deeply disappointing to see such a disregard for customer safety and wellbeing. A truly authentic Italian place in the heart of Milan where you may expect a tourist trap, lies a little gem of a restaurant.

As an establishment, it has considerable history and is elegant inside. The service very friendly, informative and matches the internal elegance. The menu as well is not excessive, and certainly more varied than your typical Italian restaurant menu of pasta bolognese - they have excellent options for pasta, fish, meat and starters.

Our T-bone steak (Fiorentina) was exquisite (see pictures). We’ve been countless times and the food is simply excellent.

Would definitely recommend, and make sure you take the time needed to really enjoy the restaurant...
