I was shocked by the gap between the glowing reviews and my actual experience. The broths were lukewarm and under-seasoned, the takoyaki were actually fried, and the yakitori were tender but utterly bland.

But that's not all. The most frustrating part was that the place tries to look like a traditional and authentic Japanese restaurant, and I’ll admit—the ambiance does its job. But as soon as the food arrives, reality crashes down.

I love Chinese food, but if I walk into a Ramen Bar I expect Japanese flavors, textures, aromas, and techniques. If I wanted the Chinese equivalent, I would have chosen a restaurant that actually labels itself as such. That’s the whole point of specialized restaurants.

Here, the tonkotsu ramen lacked the deep umami richness and velvety collagen texture that define it. No beautifully caramelized slices of chashu floating on top. Instead, the broth was unexpectedly light, tinged with sweet-and-sour notes and misplaced spices. The pork slices were tender but had zero caramelization, offering none of the depth of soy sauce or sake they were supposed to.

In the end, I couldn’t appreciate it as an authentic Japanese experience, nor as a well-executed fusion concept. It simply felt like a restaurant that didn’t quite know what it...

💐Buongiorno

😋Food is really delicious, and the portions are quite generous. If you don’t eat much, two people can easily share a main course and order some delicious side dishes. 🍶As a sake lover, I appreciate how hard it is to find a good sake place. They have a wide variety of cold sake options, and even though there’s only one option for hot sake, the quality is excellent.

🎏The restaurant is small, giving it an authentic, cozy feel, much like the typical Japanese restaurants you’d find in the alleys of Japan. It’s a hidden gem with everything you need. They even have Italian beers, which is a nice touch if you fancy trying some local Italian brews.

🙏🏽Unfortunately, the menu is in Italian, so most of the time we needed to ask for assistance. The staff speaks well in both Italian and English, so don’t worry if you are an English speaker. They are really nice and patient, explaining and introducing the menu (and even stopping us from ordering too much in case we got carried away 😆).💐

🫶🏼We absolutely loved the atmosphere and had a great time...

We were craving for Asian food and we decided to try out Duu. Gyoza was very juicy, and if you add the hot chilli oil that they provide, it’s yummy. The chicken skewer was very meaty (generous with the meat) and taste good too. We also had the spicy ramen, noodles was springy, egg had a runny soft yolk (yummy!!). Broth is not too spicy for us, but still good enough. Curry tonkatsu - pork was so tender, and very generous portion, it’s a huge piece of meat. Could have more curry sauce but still shiok. They gave us complimentary pickled tomato/chinese bayberry and this was the favourite dish for us the whole night! If they sold this by the jar, we would probably buy it. It’s so refreshing and so so good. The tuna belly was very yummy with the refreshing sauce too.

Overall,...
