Fuel - Food is Energy — Restaurant in Milan

Disappointing service. I saw a table outside clear so I grabbed in while my husband went to the bar to get coffee. As he brought it over, the waiter stormed over and shouted at me in a raised voice (to the point that other customers looked round to see what was going on) that his boss had just shouted at him and asked why we weren't using table service and had come to the bar? I was really shocked as there were no signs on the table to say it was table service, and he hadn't approached us in the five minutes I was sat there to ask if we wanted drinks.

We were in Milan on holiday and had just been shopping to buy an expensive birthday present and the whole experience made us feel humiliated and put a damper on what was otherwise a really lovely day in Milan.

This place is probably my favourite bar/coffe shop in Milan and every time I go back home I have stop to get lunch and/or coffee.

The location is great, 3 minutes walking distance from Duomo but far enough to make this bar an hidden gem away from tourists.

The service is excellent, Marco and his family really make you feel at home when you are at Fuel.

The food is great, they only use high quality ingredients which is rare considering the location of the bar and they have the BEST...

Unfortunately one of our bagels had a substantial amount of mould on the underside, to which the staff apologised and replaced it. However, when this one arrived, it was not toasted. But third time lucky, we both eventually enjoyed nice lunches. I would particularly recommend the Italiano. And they were kind enough to take the bagel off of our bill, so at least the issue was...
