Don't get fooled by the weirdly good reviews, avoid at all cost! Pizza was 18-24 euros with the texture and taste of reheated stuff. Service was, to say - weird. All tables were marked "reserved" with no customers in the entire restaurant. While we ate the waiter (maybe owner?) sent every potential customer away stating that "tutto reservati". I noticed that we were the only English speaking customers and all the others who entered the restaurant spoke Italian. My theory is that he didn't want to fool native customers but figured out that tourists will be easier to cheat. The only reason why we decided to finish our pizzas was the fact that we were starving and almost every nearby restaurant were closed at 3pm. The whole dining experience was the worst we've had in Italy and possibly one of the worst we've ever had anywhere.
EDIT: (I haven't edited the original review, I'll just wanted to add a few things after the owner's response).
I see that the owner has a handful of things to say in response, for example: "they ordered 2 pizzas for four people", "they asked for vinegar/balsamico/bread/etc.", "all lies", "problem was price", "they didn't order drinks", "they are just tourists, we've been open since 1971".
Just to clarify: YES we are tourists. We ordered 4 pizzas for 4 people + drinks. We tried to order two tuna pizzas, but the waiter said it was "possible to make one" so we needed to order a different pizza. Afterwards I've came to conclusion that he possibly had one tuna pizza ready and waiting to be reheated (according to soft texture and lukewarm heat). We didn't ask for anything extra and behaved just normally and respectfully the whole time. And I wouldn't have problem paying about 20 euros for a pizza in Milano IF the food was even decent (which it was not).
I understand that restaurants get a loads of complaints for no reason from tourists but that doesn't mean that restaurant managers should give arrogant responses to complaints. Tourists are a big source of income for businesses in large cities and the respectful behaviour should work both ways.
I repeat myself: if you want to be treated equally to native Italians and overall respectfully,...
Read moreThe worst experience I ever had and that is why I won't hesitate to give my first review on Google.
I went to this restaurant using google maps and guided by the number of stars and the pretty good rating.
Having no experience, I did not read the section of bad reviews which describes exactly what is happening in this restaurant.
You can notice that the second most frequent review is the lowest one. The rest and almost all the good reviews are fake and this is a way to attract the customers.
From the total unprofessional responses of the restaurant you will see their lack of respect for the tourists. They offers here answers like: "tourists are always dissatisfied", "they don't have money - entered 4 people and ordered only 2 pizzas", "Milan is an expensive city, you don't have money to eat at a restaurant, go to the supermarket", and the most ugly and lying is their reply regarding the year of their foundation. They say is a restaurant with tradition starting 1971, in another reply 1975, in another comment 1980.. They have also another reply "this is a restaurant dedicated to Italians and for those who live here in Milan".
As the restaurant is situated in the center and close to the Duomo, it is automatically frequented by tourists.
The owner, who is also the waiter of the "restaurant" is racist and very angry if you speak English to him.
While I was serving the meal with my fiancee, another couple sat down at the next table near our table. They ordered in English, and he told them that it is not normal to come in Italy and not speak Italian. I heard something like: "guys, you don't even know English well?!" And after that he kicked them out from the restaurant!
However, after you enter in the restaurant, you will notice an extremely small restaurant, with a maximum of 6 tables and all of them are reserved (later, reading the reviews, I found out why he keeps the reservation on them).
At the entrance you can remark and see the kitchen which they try to mask the mess using a copertine.
The smell is horrible, smells like pee and he tries to mask it with air freshener...
Avoid this...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible restaurant with a terrible waiter/chef/owner. So so rude. First time we tried to go he told us he was fully booked even though he had nobody inside. Second time he allowed us in after staring at us judgingly for a few minutes. Despite advertising as having a gluten free menu they have only 1 gluten free dish - a seafood risotto. We asked if a salmon dish was gf and he shrugged and said don't know. Didn't try to accommodate at all. Took our order and then after 10 mins told me to take my 1 year old daughter on the street to walk around (a busy road with cars and scooters flying down it) as he didn't want her inside. It was 35 degrees outside so I didn't want to do that but picked her up and walked her around the restaurant. She was standing on one of the chairs and he came over and shouted "no" at her and then decided he didn't want to serve us anymore and kicked us out. I'm sure he will spin it that she was being a nightmare but she wasn't doing anything at all and I was right next to her. If you don't want to allow kids in your restaurant that's totally fine but you should say from the outset. He wasted our time when my daughter was hot and hungry and I could have just gone somewhere else if he didnt want to serve a kid. You also should not advertise as being gluten free as you're not. He is an incredibly rude, arrogant and obnoxious man and its clear that all the 5 star ratings are from people forced to give them with a lure of a free dessert or by him watching over you as you rate. Didn't get the chance to eat the food so I can't comment but I would avoid this place at all costs, so many better...
