It starts right when we entered the restaurant when it just openened (19.30 h) with two other groups of people. The female worker (maybe manager?) asked if my partner and I had a reservation which we didn't and she told us that reservations come first so we had to wait! Wow...We are only 2 people.... does this place really not have tables for customers that visit spontaneously?! So we had to wait and let two other Italian men go first. Then she told us: We're fully booked tonight but I can give you a table until 21.00. You need to leave before then. That's around 1h 20min at that time.
Really horrible customer management! We did not feel welcomed and found that lady quite unfriendly. Every restaurant has tables - especially for only 2 persons - available. Especially when it has just openend! This makes this restaurant really unlikeable acting as if this was a VVIP luxury place which it doesn't look and performed like at all!
Well, as we were hungry and walked for a long time we agreed but ordered only 2 main dishes and drinks. Normally we go all out and order Antipasti, main courses and dessert along with several drinks. However, as the management and how the female worker treated us at the entrance, we did not have the motivation and desire to try many things and support this place. The menu is also quite limited. Prices are too high.
But I must say that our young waitress (not the same woman managing reservations) was very friendly and nice. That's why we tipped only her as it is not her fault that the customer management sucks.
Now to the food. The ribeye steak with extra fries and taglioglini with clams and spicy salami were extremely disappointing. The steak was medium rare and not seasoned well. My pasta dish had only 4 (!!!) Small clams in it! Only 4! That dish costs 14 Euro! On top of that there was no Salami in it.
As soon as we were done all bread was taken away from us and the table emptied completely. Also, the male waiter (tall and bold) was more busy with trying to impress our young waitress than with attending to customers. He stood next to our table with finished empty plates for 10 minutes and did not even ask us if everything was alright. But as soon as our waitress came and wanted to take our plates with us he suddenly came running and took the plates from her. Funny how attentive and talkative to HER and not to us he suddenly was. He even joked around wainting to carry her. Flirting in front of customers is not very professional especially at a place that acts like a Michelin restaurant.
All in all, a bad experience and not worth a visit! I have eaten at much better Italian places with better prices and...
Read moreNerino Dieci Trattoria is an Italian restaurant in the Duomo area of Milan. It’s located down a deserted alleyway away from the riffraff. We walked in at 9:15 pm on a Thursday night without a reservation and needed to wait only 10-minutes to snag a table. We were given complimentary sparkling wine while waiting before we were led to our table. The ambiance is relaxed and chill for couples and close families.
We were provided wet wipes for our hands and complimentary bread. I also ordered a drink followed by mussels and a couple of pasta dishes.
[WINE]
+Glass of House White Wine for €5 - 4/5
[MUSSELS]
+With 'Nduja (olive oil, garlic, and spicy salami) for €12 - This was an extremely large bowl of mussels with a slightly spiced broth to dip the bread in. They provided a plate to put the empty shells and cleared it away with another fresh plate a few times while eating; talk about incredible service! The mussels were mostly good with some tasting slightly fishy. After finishing this item, they replaced the utensils with another set before our pastas arrived. - 4/5
[PASTA]
+Linguine with lobster and tomato sauce for €26 - This pasta was good, but it was messy to break apart the lobster even further than it was already cracked. They did provide the tools to get the job done though. It’s a simple pasta, but I wish it was more flavorful. - 3.5/5
+Tagliolini with clams and spicy salami for €16 - This pasta was great and had a nice spice to it. I would recommend this one over the linguine. There are other pastas on the menu which also look excellent. - 4.5/5
To end the night, they provided a complimentary Pistachio Cream Liqueur as they said it helps with digestion. I enjoyed it. We also saw they were serving “Grappa” which is a fragrant, grape-based pomace brandy. One of the bartenders let me try it for my first time, and it was excellent. The grappa was strong and warmed my insides! Overall, I loved this experience in Milan, and I would highly recommend checking Nerino Dieci Trattoria for their excellent service and...
Read more(Reservation) My wife and I came to celebrate our anniversary. I made a reservation through Thefork. On the website, I could choose for one and five people. By choosing 1 person, you can make a reservation for two people. I wrote my extra requests in the note section and they definitely take into account the notes you write. Thank you very much for this.
(Restaurant) The location is close to where we stayed and has a nice location. We walked to the restaurant and they decorated the table for our anniversary. You can definitely choose it for an anniversary and a romantic meal. We had "Gazpacho con verdure in pinzimonio, stracciatella e crostini di pane alla curcuma" (vegetable soup), "Turanici al pomodorino fresco in forma di Grana" (pasta with cherry tomato sauce) and "Tartare di manzo al coltello" (beef tartare). I will comment on the food as someone who prefers Italian and Turkish cuisine. It may change according to your taste.
(Dinner) "Gazpacho con verdure in pinzimonio, stracciatella e crostini di pane alla curcuma": A really wonderful soup. Incredibly beautiful and appetizing to start with.
"Turanici al pomodorino fresco in forma di Grana": I thought the cherry tomato sauce was a bit thin and a bit raw. I have had pastas with a similar recipe and frankly this one tasted a bit raw. The presentation was very good.
"Tartare di manzo al coltello": I tried it for the first time in my life and it was too heavy for my taste. At the same time, it might have been too much to eat after the pasta. It tasted good but I couldn't finish my meal. It bothered me a few hours after the meal but I don't take it into consideration. A note for first time diners :) The presentation was great. You can completely choose and customize the spices and sauces. They ask you during the presentation.
As for the wine, there is a wide wine menu. You can easily find the right wine/wines for your meal. Overall, we were very satisfied with...
