My recent dining experience at Osteria Fiaschetto had its highs and lows, but overall, it left me with mixed feelings.
Ambiance and Service: The evening started on a positive note with a warm welcome from a very friendly female waiter. Her pleasant demeanor set a great tone for the meal.
Drinks: We began with a recommendation of Valpolicella 2022 Pra. Unfortunately, the wine turned out to be rather uninspiring. One member of our party requested a second glass of Gewürztraminer later in the evening. However, she was served only half a glass and had to wait 10 minutes for an explanation. It turns out they had run out of it, which was disappointing. It would have been better if we had been informed upfront or come with a different suggestion. The good thing was that he did nou charge us for the wine.
Food: The culinary experience was quite varied. The starter of goat cheese was simply amazing, setting high expectations for the rest of the meal. The pasta carbonara continued this positive trend, being flavorful and satisfying. However, the veal was a letdown—dry and lacking the paprika mayo that was advertised on the menu.
For dessert, the tiramisu was nice but felt unnecessarily modified. Sometimes, classic dishes are best left untouched, and this was a prime example.
Conclusion: Osteria Fiaschetto has potential, especially with some standout dishes like the goat cheese starter and pasta carbonara. However, the inconsistencies in service and the hit-or-miss nature of the menu items left room for improvement. With better communication and a focus on maintaining the integrity of classic dishes, this place could elevate its dining experience...
Read moreDelicious! We had the bone marrow and truffle mortadella to start with. Then we had the carbonara and the paccheri, and finally we finished with the veal costoletta that we shared (the three of us). The appetizers were delicious. The pasta dishes were really good, maybe just a tiny bit too salty for me—I had the carbonara. Finally, the veal costoletta was really good (and generously sized), but having a little lemon to squeeze on it would have been nice. The service was the best, they were so nice and efficient! We even got to try a digestif from Sardinia called Mirto thanks to our waitress’ suggestion. We got some cocktails and then a bottle of sparkling rose, and that was great too. I strongly recommend trying this restaurant, you will not be...

We had the most wonderful evening here - the food was absolutely sublime, we tried the traditional Costoletta among other dishes, and all were phenomenally cooked.
Domenico was fantastic from the moment of our approach to the restaurant. He welcomed us greatly and was so knowledgeable about the wine aswell as the the food. The quality of the produce was insane and the staff knowledge was second to none. It was everything we expected and more and I only wish that we could visit Milan more often to come here. If we were lucky enough to live here this would definitely be our regular restaurant, I honestly could not recommend this...
