Probably one of the best places to have a meal in Milan. Exquisite location in the galleria, friendly and smiling staff, little dishes brought out for free are among the factors that make us consider this place a must-try. The restaurant staff are immediately cheerful and kind, making you feel at ease from the very beginning. One of the waiters gave us a variety of recommendations and it’s fair to say they did not dissapoint. We ordered the «culatello e burrata» (recommended by our waiter), and before it even came out, a small plate of thin crispy pizza shaped breads as well as a fried shrimp with a nice garlic sauce. Nice touch and good extras! The starter was a burrata on a bed of aged ham. Good ham and a very good burrata, felt very authentic and fresh as could be. For the pasta dish we ordered a «tonnarelli caccio et pepe» which was slightly dissapointing because it lacked the traditional flavour of a caccio e pepe being the pepper, which seemed to be replaced by a slightly overpowering lime zest. On the other hand, the were very generous with the quantity of cheese on the pasta, covered in a gooey delicious cheese layer. We also had the «uovo raviolo» which lacked a certain generosity in quantity but the technique was flawless, the egg yolk was still whole and nice and gooey. We then had our main courses. The margarita pizza, which was highly rated and popular on the restaurant’s google reviews was slightly disappointing. It did not ressemble a Neapolitan style pizza at all and felt more like a New York style ultra thin pizza with cheese covering the pizza in a very thin layer. Nevertheless, the pizza’s taste was satisfying but perhaps not up to the level of a classic italian margarita. The «ossobuco risotto» was superb, the meat extremely tender and full of flavors and just loved the risotto served with the ossobuco. A must try no doubt. We then ordered the tiramisu to share, which was excellent. Probably one of the best I’ve tried in a good while, very creamy, and well balanced in every aspect. Nothing to say. Very very good! Then to add another little charming gift from the house. We got offered the small biscuits as we ordered the bill and two small ice cream chocolate bites which were superb. The cakes were not exceptional but it’s always a nice little added touch. Good stuff. Definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone going to Milan. A special thanks to the friendly staff, who helped raise the restaurant from a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ to a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️....
Read moreWe visited Galleria Café Restaurant & Pizza as a family while exploring Milan and had a great experience. The restaurant is located inside the beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, making it a convenient spot for lunch during sightseeing.
The service stood out from the start. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. They were welcoming towards families, which made the visit easy and enjoyable with children.
We ordered a good mix of dishes. The Spaghetti Galleria was rich, well-cooked, and full of flavour. The Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe had the right balance of cheese and pepper with a creamy texture. We also had two Margherita pizzas, one sliced for easy sharing, both with fresh tomato sauce and a soft, thin crust. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared.
For drinks, I had a Virgin Mojito, which was refreshing and nicely balanced. The wife enjoyed her Caffè Macchiato, which was a perfect way to finish the meal.
The restaurant has a lively atmosphere but still feels relaxed enough to enjoy a proper meal with family. The staff were patient with the children and happy to accommodate small requests, which made a difference.
The prices reflect the central location, but the food quality, service, and setting made it worthwhile. Sitting under the grand roof of the Galleria while dining was an experience in itself. Given the setting and service, it felt fair for a well-prepared meal in the heart of Milan.
Overall, Galleria Café Restaurant & Pizza is an excellent choice if you want a family-friendly restaurant in a prime location. You can enjoy good Italian food with warm service and a great view of the Galleria’s stunning architecture.
Highly recommended for families visiting Milan who want a reliable, welcoming, and enjoyable...
Read moreEdit: dropping this review down to 1 as the response is such a joke. Hisham did not need to try and put me down by laughing about my request with his colleague and responding with 'this is Italy'. If you don't serve halal food that's fine, a simple no, we don't do halal food is fine. He also did not need to lie and say in Milan Halal food is against the law. I also saw him eavesdrop into my conversation with the manager to ensure I did not say anything to hum. He knew he was in the wrong by first being rude and then laughing about it with his colleague. I know when I am being berated and the fact Hisham and the response below are trying to cover it up as being helpful comments is wrong.
This would have easily been a 5 star review if not for the waiter on the 28th June letting it down. The waiter is the one with glasses working at 18:30. He was serving the right side of the restaraunt as you walk in. We asked him if they sell halal food, which many restaraunts do. He responded with this is Italy, we do not do that here. And proceeded to go to his colleague and have a laugh about it. Once he saw me looking at his name badge he became extra friendly and told me false information that he only made that comment because halal food is outlawed in Milan. This is a lie that you can easily check up online.
Other than that the restaraunt was good. You can get €12 pizzas. They give you a lot of stuff on the house like starters, dessert. Really nice place to go. Just got ruined by someone who seems to think it's okay to laugh at someone's beliefs, culture and upbringing. My wife made the best assessment - Imagine someone coming to the UK and asking for an Italian dish and being told...
