Disappointing Experience at La Locanda del Gatto Rosso
My family and I recently visited La Locanda del Gatto Rosso, a restaurant that came highly recommended. Unfortunately, we left feeling unwelcome and upset due to the unkind host who seemed to have no patience or empathy for our simple requests.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were seated next to a display of live sausages. As a family with young children, we found the sight a bit unsettling and asked if we could be moved to another table. The host begrudgingly obliged, only to seat us at another table right next to the sausages again. When we requested a second time to move away from the sausages, the host became visibly irritated and snapped at us, making us feel like a nuisance.
As if that wasn't enough, we noticed that the outdoor seating area was quite chilly, and we asked if we could stay inside instead. The host responded by shouting at us, stating that it was sunny outside and implying that we were making a fuss over nothing. This abrasive behavior was completely uncalled for and made us feel extremely uncomfortable.
The rest of our experience at La Locanda del Gatto Rosso was overshadowed by the host's unwelcoming attitude. Although the food was decent, it was not enough to make up for the poor treatment we received. It's disheartening to think that a restaurant with such potential could be marred by such a lack of hospitality.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend La Locanda del Gatto Rosso based on our experience. A restaurant should be a place where patrons feel welcomed and comfortable, and this was far from the case during our visit. I hope that the management will address this issue and ensure that future guests do not have to endure a...
Read moreMilan seems to have become an abomination. This restaurant has the same problem. The service here was absolutely horrible. We seemed to be bothering our waiter every time we tried to spend money. Took 20 minutes after seating to even get a waiter to acknowledge our existence. Once he finally came over we realized that he was the rudest human I’ve ever came in contact with. Once we ordered he literally never put the ticket in for our drinks. We received one bottle of water in the two hours we were there. When we asked before our food finally came out where the rest of our drinks were he blamed the bar even though every other table seemed to get theirs in reasonable time. It was obvious he for got to put them in and was glaring when we received the bill and they were the last two things on there. Food was ok at best. Veal was decent and pasta was slightly undercooked. Very Aldenti. Was difficult to get his attention to get the check. 40 degrees outside and we couldn’t get out of there fast enough to find water. Epic fail. Worst I’ve ever been treated in a restaurant anywhere in the world. Lunch was $185 for 4 of us. Avoid...
Read moreI dislike writing negative reviews. However, when deserved, it’s my right upon you to tell you why.
Unfortunately I was seated beside the stairwell. I didn’t feel comfortable and kindly requested to be relocated. My request was denied with the reasoning that the upstairs dining area was closed anyways, as in the stairs won’t be in use. Of course, the stairs were in use, by staff, carrying cardboard boxes up and down. Thought I’d mention that there were many 2-person tables available for us. It felt as if we were looked down upon, or not welcomed.
Anyways, I ordered the T-bone steak, medium rare. My expectations weren’t high because it a tourist trap, but I wanted the the experience regardless. The presentation was fun to watch! However, the steak was cold, and very bland, but worst of all, chewy. Medium rare meat can be sliced through like butter, this was tough. Maybe, this is how they do it, and I didn’t know any better. Regardless, I thought I’d share.
The extra star is actually for our host. He was sweet, and inviting, loved having a chat with him. If I recall, Alessandro was his name.
Thank you...
