We had dinner at this restaurant on a Sunday night. We made our reservation that same day with no issues. The place is cozy. They do make an effort to make you feel in a warm atmosphere and there are several Stendhal books on the shelves. That was a nice detail. Service was okay. They were very kind when we arrived but it took them over 25 minutes to give us our check and bringing us the terminal To pay. It’s understandable but we were there just waiting so they were not mindful of our time. The food is something I was very eager to try. I had seen the reviews and the pictures on social media and had very high expectations which is not always something positive. Risotto was good and the portion was great. We were two and we ordered to share so it was a good decision to order it. The next dish (I can’t remember the name) was lamb chops with mashed potatoes. The crisp was beyond good. The meat was tender and delicious. The not so good was that the creamy potatoes were cold, not at the same temperature as the meat. Gravy was very good as well. The bread basket had a wide variety and was delicious. We had a half bottle of vino Rosso and it was good. They do offer a high variety of wines by region. We did not have dessert because we were not very excited from all Our experience, so We skipped it. Overall, it was a regular experience for us but not sure I...

No issues with the food, which is very good, but a dining experience is more than just what's on the plate and unfortunately the overall experience at this restaurant was less than satisfactory.

We chose this restaurant for our final night's dinner after a three week holiday in Italy from Australia partly because of the reviews but also because I liked the look of the interior of the restaurant from the photos on the website. Having made the effort to reserve a table rather than just arrive and hope we could get one (as people often do when on holiday) I was incredibly disappointed to find we had been given a table in the winter garden terrace. After asking if we could have a table inside the restaurant I was told that there was one but we would have to leave by 9pm as it was reserved for a second sitting (even though there is no mention of two sittings when you book a table). I like to take my time at dinner to enjoy and savour the experience so reluctantly declined the offer as I felt 1.5 hours was not long enough.

Imagine my surprise, and further disappointment, when I entered the restaurant at approximately 9:30pm to use the bathroom only to find that there were numerous empty tables for two. Clearly our request could easily have been granted but for whatever reason, and I suspect it was because we were tourists who were unlikely to...

Traveled to Milan for summer break with the family and tried Stendhal based on various reviews. Was seated on the outdoor patio which was very comfortable and super cute. Service was prompt and attentive. After a big day walking the town we had a big appetite and ordered several dishes. Starters included the Burrata, Caprese, Prosciutto and Melon, Mondeghilli tradizionali. All of the starters were tasty but our favorite was the Prosciutto and Melon. The prosciutto had the perfect amount of the saltiness to counter a very ripe and sweet melon. The mondeghilli had a nice sauce to it in a perfect bite size shape. For entrees, we had the Ossobuco with risotto, Veal Milanese, Agnoletti, Il Condiglione, and Risotto Al rosmarino con crudo di porcini. The ossobuco was the star, especially with the Risotto "giallo" Milano pairing. The meat was super tender and well flavored. The Risotto Milano was very flavorful and perfectly prepared as was the other risotto dish we ordered. The Agnoletto was also very tasty with the trio of meats complimenting each to form a perfect pasta dumpling with beef sauce. We finished with a lemon sorbet and fruit cup. Was a great meal in a nice July evening...

This dinning experience exceeded all expectations. And our expectations were pretty high as it was recommended by a local. It is tucked away from the tourist traps in the artistic district of Brera. The staff was charming, warm & friendly. The manager spent quite a bit of time with us sharing the history of the establishment. It is an obvious source of pride(rightfully so!) We knew we were in for a great experience when the breads were served & were paired with a delicious balsamic that was so good we searched on line to order for ourselves at home! We selected several of the traditional menu items. The zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta were melt in your mouth delicious. Next up was the pasta with truffled oil & veal ragu. Really nice. The Ossobuco fell off the bone so tender served with a traditional risotto. We then had gorgonzale with fig. Spectacular! Then the most memorable chocolate dessert I've ever had...Creamy Gianduia Valrhona. If you love chocolate & caramel this is an experience you can not miss. Someone should be arrested it was so sinful!!! Bottom line make sure you don't miss out on this wonderful treasure in Milan!
