When reviewing places, I always focus on two main aspects: value for money and the overall experience. Unfortunately, my initial impression of this particular branch of IL Gelato was a bit underwhelming. The woman at the cashier seemed rather abrupt—she asked me to place my order and pay without giving me a chance to look at the available flavours, which felt a bit rushed and unwelcoming. However, the experience improved significantly after that. The staff at the ice cream counter were very friendly and eager to help. They patiently explained the flavours and made the interaction much more pleasant. While the selection of flavours wasn’t as extensive as in some other gelaterias I’ve visited in Italy, the quality was excellent. The portion sizes were generous, and the pricing was very reasonable—especially considering the shop’s central location in Naples. For just €3.50, I was able to enjoy three scoops of delicious gelato, which I found to be great value for the quality offered. Next time, I’ll be more prepared to choose quickly, but I’d still recommend this place for anyone looking for a tasty and affordable treat in the heart...

The first day the cashier was quite unfriendly and seemed to want to be literally anywhere else, and I did hope the tips we put into the tip jar were split with the actual workers behind the counter, however on my second visit she had to deal with a mess left on the floor by some customers and when I gave her an apologetic smile she was then lovely to me, so I would say maybe it had to do with that kind of thing on my first day. Massive thanks to the guy working on Monday, he recommend the Cremino al sale and it was delicious. Also the best pistacchio gelato I’ve had. I would go again. Very nice size scoop...
Read moreUnfriendly and rude service. The old lady wearing glasses receiving payment is extremely rude to customers and should be fired. I recommend tourists to visit other gelateria in Napoli instead. She is busy with her phone and not accomodating customers, shouts at customers and make very rude gestures to customers. How good the gelato does not matter. This is a store that sells gelato but also should provide good service for customers. When I meet these kind of workers at store I feel pity for them. They should be ashamed of themselves and feel embarrassed of how they are living their life. I recommend other great stores with friendly workers willing to work hard for their lives. To run this store in long term this woman should be fired and hire...
